There is nothing more iconic in Washington than Mt Rainier. Love It! I like the views of St Helens and Adam's. Mt Adams has always been my favorite Cascade volcano. It doesn't get talked about as much. Sounds like you got lucky getting sick. Great video! Hike on!

Sunrise. Go from River Campground trail to Glacier then up to last Burrough. Jump on Glacier if you feel it. It's busy. I like the Sourdough Pass deal and loop around Naches Peak. Sunrise is killer. Epic views. Area.

Looks like you're hanging out somewhere in the Bitterroot still.

Nice video for backpacking in snow/ glacier. Good information on hiking, safety and those conditions. It looks like you had fun too. Altitude sickness is not fun though. Scary wicked wind! Once again, you have some nicely composed photographs. Views from the top of the world it seems. You are a dedicated backpacker! Edit add-on: I read where there is no fee for the video/ photography in national park lands for up to two persons on the permit. I wonder that in your current video you could have had two permits and that would have been lawful? This law seems pretty heavy-handed for the videographers I watch on KZbin!

A actual self arrest would be with crampons on. Instinct would make you try and use your feet to self arrest but can cause you to tomahawk in crampons so you need to practice lifting your feet in this situation and just use the ice axe. Happened to me for real coming down middle Teton

you're fortunate a white out didn't accompany the wind... MRNP is my backyard although I am more like you a hiker vs climber. Them climbers are a special breed. Sunrise side of the mountain is much better for hiking IMO.
