I mention that it "Isn't a part of the wilderness. I may have been drunk because it is a part of the wilderness. You exit the wilderness if you summit the peaks to the south of Libby though. The original render had lots of un stabilized/analyzed clips with artifacts so I went back and fixed them for upload. Might as well have another mosquito hell video for the memory books!

WOW! That shot of Lacey surrounded by the swarm... damn! I've been in the swarm, but never been able to get that good of a shot of it!. Despite growing up in Washington, I haven't hiked around the Chelan area. From what I could see through the swarm of mosquitos, it looks beautiful!

Another high quality video. Andrew. Photography, editing, and audio makes it a good one. And the landscape! Don't you wonder why there's so many mosquitoes when there is generally nothing for them to feed on? I have had that unpleasant experience myself. Happy to see Lacey catching a rainbow trout! Seasons greetings!

i think this is where I spent some time backpacking with the NWOBS last summer; last i saw it there was still snow everywhere lol. Been reminiscing about that section, best damn water I ever tasted came out of a little creek. Will have to go back someday

My dad took myself and my school friend on the Libby Lake hike almost every year. We would always camp in the cabin about 1/2 a mile before the lake. You can find the names of Nate, Bill, Sung, Jim, Steve and Ryan with dates next to them carved in the logs of the cabin. That was over 20 years ago, and now my father is no more, and I have kids of my own that will be hiking age soon. I noticed you did not show the cabin in the video, maybe it has collapsed?

What a horrible way to enjoy an epic hike in the wilderness---MOSQUITOES!!! Do you use mosquito netting for your heads? How about Permethrin for clothes and Deet or OFF of something? I can't imagine being out there with that multitude of BUGS!!! We do hunt, fish and hike and volunteer with the Forest Service and are never bothered by bugs like that. Poor Lacey. Were you bothered as well? Keep up the spectacular photography.

You must have been there the exact moment those mosquitoes hatched.
