My son found the company whilst reading a shooting magazine. One thing led to another and RFM made me a matching pair. They informed me all the way through the build and construction of the guns. They are lovely Italian masterpieces. Congratulations and many thanks RFM. Salute!

@bradshook2611 I do have the advantage of having an Italian wife who rang them up on my behalf. The stock dimensions I had already from a previous manufacturer potential build by another company, who had been given the order, and had not even started the manufacturer after 18 months of which I had also paid a substantial deposit. On this occasion, I had visited the factory and was measured up. After being very frustrated with this company, my deposit was repaid in full, and I cancelled the order. I quite simply emailed the stock dimensions to them that I had. As far as I am aware, this was the first time a matching pair had been requested to RFM. They were very obliging and emailed me pictures of Walnut stock blanks to choose from. I took the view on this and suggested that they would have far more experience than myself of such matters. They very kindly informed me of each manufacturing process or operation along the way, usually accompanied by relevant photographs. I placed the order through The Sportsman Gun Centre in Exeter. They are a pair of side by sides, multi choke, file cut ribs with semi beavertail forend, and full pistolgrips. They shoot very nicely. In all honesty, my son has used them more than I have. RFM actually rang me up to ask me how I had got on with them after the first shoot! Very pleased all round.

@bradshook2611 Originally, I had been out to Italy and been measured up by another Italian gun maker and kept the stock dimensions just as a memento. I had also given a hefty deposit for the build. However, things didn't go well, and after two years, they hadn't even made a start on the guns. When l complained, they offered me my money back, much to my surprise. This is where RFM came into the equation. My son showed me some pictures of some RFM shotguns that I thought looked rather nice. After much thought, I asked my wife, who is Italian, to give them a call and ask if they could build me a matching pair of guns. About a week later, they rang us back to say that they would be able to oblige, asking what specifications I would like. They also emailed me pictures of different stock blanks to choose from. I replied to them, saying that I am sure that they would have more idea than myself on how things turned out. I had two side by sides 28-inch multi choke barrels with file cut ribs, full pistolgrips coin finish sideplates, and silvers recoil pads. The stock dimensions I emailed to them from my previous aforementioned experience. The guns were completed in about 12 months. When I picked them up, RFM rang me at home to see if I was satisfied with the end product, which indeed I was. They also rang me again during the game season to see how I had performed with my new guns, which was a very nice touch. My son has probably used them more than myself, and he is also very impressed with them. They are very smooth handling nicely balanced as well as pleasing to the eye. I hope this helps.

This is a video that shares the very essence of these artisans. Their passion actually resides in what is born of their minds, hearts and their hands. My 28 gauge RFM is a gem - not of the highest grade - but a glorious piece that fitted both me and my budget! I carry my RFM in the field along with hunting "brothers" following fine pointing dogs accruing gems/indelible memories of wild grouse/woodcock, quail/pheasants, Huns/sharp-tail and chukar. In speaking with Maurizio, I discovered a common thread in their passion and mine (bird dog trainer). Thank you RFM. We plan on returning to Italy this coming year. This next time, we would like to stop in for a visit. Until then, "Saluti a tutta la famiglia RFM!" 😘

Been doing mine for almost 20 years now. Unfortunately I am now in administration for last year and not hands on and it is killing me slowly.. unfortunately I injured myself and I can't really do the hands on anymore. It's a hard adaptation.

I received my SK Field 20. It's gorgeous, light, and shoulders like a dream. I also snap shot my biggest rooster so far at 40 yards, and a hungariant partridge. If you want one of these guns, get on it!
