Trains passing the now closed Norton Bridge station on 16-08-2003
We see Class 220 Voyager, Class 158 DMU, Class 390 Pendolino, Class 43 HST, Class 66 Diesel, Class 221 Super Voyager, Class 86 Electric, Class 87 Electric, Class 90 Electric & Class 47 Diesel.
The station was opened by The Grand Junction Railway in 1876 and was temporarily closed in May 2004 when Central Trains services between Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent were withdrawn (although the 2003 timetable shows the service provided by a bus) and replaced by BakerBus route X1, the footbridge access was removed in December 2004. It was officially closed in December 2017 and the replacement bus service ceased in March 2019 when the rail subsidy was withdrawn.
