One of my close friends who was working for TCS and was posted in Norway for a 3 years posting faced the same problem. Their 4 year old son had a habit of running out of the house whenever he got the chance. Once he almost got hit by a car. His wife could not control him. One day when she opened the front door to receive some grocceries she had ordered online the son saw the chance and ran out of the house. She could somehow manage to catch him on the lawn and scolded him for being so naughty. Next day they got a call from the Child protection people as one of their neighbour complained against them. They were called to the Child protection office and the 4 year kid was interviewed seperately even though non of my friend nor wife or kid could understand or speak Norweigian (They had gone to Norway temporarily and had absolulely no intention or will to settle there. In fact my frienend had reqested TCS not to post him to Norway but was forced to do the project in Norway). My friend immidiately send his family back to lndia within a week of the incident as his wife did not want to remain in Norway under such unpredictable conditions any more. My friend left his job in TCS and now he is settled in USA for the past 2 years. As per my friend , it is not adviceable to move to any European country if you have a family and kids and lndians are better advised to migrate to US/Australia/NZ or even Canada but never Europe.

I'm in NZ, here we cannot leave child at home until 14 year old. If we do then we are in jail n child will be taken. After 18, we don't have right on kids much mean they are independent and If we take our child go hospital after might 16 or 18 they don't tell us about our child health report. Your a teacher? There are documented cases in Norway of critics of NORWAY CHILD WELFARE services punitively taking children of their critics. You are most certainly subject to observation bias, which is to see things in such a way as to not negatively affect you or to positively affect you. If you were harshly critical you could not only be exposed to loose your children but you would most certainly loose your job as an unfit teacher. Let me say this about one of your comments. Unless you are doing equal cooking, you sir, are subject to NORWAY CHILD WELFARE services taking your children. And they actually have you on video admitting this. I am an American. There is no way the state would dictate how a household is managed. This is not a western culture thing this is a NORWAY CHILD WELFARE services thing.

Do you have kids or intend to have one. In that case donot do that as your kid can be snatched from you under flimsy and vague reasons and sent to foster homes. Every year thousands of small kids especially from immigrant families are snatched from their parents and sent to foster homes. It is a big business supported by the Government to benifit some lawyers, and thousands of foster families who are paid big amount for taking small kids under them. Most of these foster kids grow up to be depressed, drug addicts and misfits. If you do not believe me please go through the innumerable articles available on the subject in the internet. Even one of my friend faced the same problem and had to leave Norway. Norway Government will destroy your family.

It’s understood that a country will have their rules. That’s clear, but CPS seems to have a power that is backed with professionals, and limitless funds that is not equally provided to the parents who are trying to fight for their child. What’s lacking is transparency, resources such as sufficient power on the other side and support. Just taking a child and limiting contact or removing contact completely or not providing proper evidence which is not biased or culturally undrrstsding what bad in one country is okay in another country. Are these so called rules properly understood by foreigners??? This is what makes Norwsy sound like a bully, kidnapping and acting in the worst interest of the child. Every child wants to know their heritage, imagine a kid finding out they were taken and hearing their parents rendition of events. That child will never be loyal to Norway, there won’t be love and understanding for their country. It’s a slippery slop. Be careful Norwsy this will bite you in the ass.

@Ruth, Thank you for expressing your concerns and sharing your viewpoint. We understand the frustration and emotions surrounding cases involving the Norwegian Child Welfare System (CPS). It is important to acknowledge that each case is unique and complex, and it's crucial to consider the well-being and safety of the child as the primary concern. Transparency, sufficient resources, and fair processes are vital components in any child welfare system. The aim should be to ensure a balanced approach that considers the best interests of the child while respecting the rights of the parents.

Some families in Netherlands make lot of noise even at 3 am, for example: break-up, children's birthday party and lot of non-sense. Very few call the police and child welfare. Later I found out that kids in here are mentally and physically strong enough to handle those non-sense. In Dutch, culture they say act normal that itself is too much to handle. Also, I had a chance to work with one of the Norwegian girl in office. To be honest they're not... She sometimes squats in office chair during meetings, explains her work like this is all I can do for you guys, Dutch and Indian colleagues were bit inexperienced with the undiscipline personality so had a difficult day. Generally, some of us are undiscipline in young age but later we see our environment and adapt towards it. I don't think she learnt anything from us so we stopped working with them. I still remember the personality, it's hard to forgot the moment and my Indian colleagues were laughing for the rest of day 😂 Dutch people were totally upset by the collaboration 😅 If your child is not disciplined then society doesn't accept your child. Then they feel loneliness and they do things which they don't do usually. Later it becomes problem to the society, I request all parents to discipline your children. If they are stubborn then don't feed them, handover your kids to child welfare let them handle your kid 😂 I'm pretty sure they will understand it intensity of parenting. Mata, pita, guru, deivam is what works in practice. There no child welfare in this so they can't discipline your child as you do. Also there is saying in our local, you get what you're. If you and your partner is sharp then you get a child sharp as razor 😂

Sant. Men BV gjør mye feil.

Yah but when you say you don’t think there’s cultural racism you say you don’t think so because you see locals celebrating with others and embracing … whatever. But is it true Norweigens don’t like change? Like trying new things such as food? Or going things differently so how do you reconcile these 2 statements. Granted this may be your opinion. But say once that child is in the custody of CPS then I think that’s when grit hits the eyes!! It’s will be a long snd painful circus with a lot of resources available to the government agencies and very minimal resources available to parents. So if you have a car accident your license is revoked forever, 1 strike and you are out. That’s what needs to change. Idd appreciate if the govt would levy intense classes snd therapy for parents do they fully understand how to manage the current situation, or support if it’s a fundamental discipline problem with the child. Therapy for the child and so on so each has coping strategies. Or resources when they are in a tough poison. Idd respect that more and see that Norwsy ‘s CPS is really working with families for bettering families.

CPS tries everything in their power to educate and help parents before removing a child. Removing a child from its parents is the last resort. Many times the CPS in Norway has been accused of being too lenient, and not saving enough children from violence/harmful environments. Children have grown up and asked...why didn't you help me? Unless you've lived here, you can't understand how the system works. This is a movie and not a documentary. The CPS has a duty of confidentiality and will not/can not say anything about a specific case. There might be more to this story than we know. In any case, violence against children is forbidden here, and everyone should know this before moving here.

Hello from my home town Paris , France , Sir Arvid . I was an au pair in Oslo from 1998 to 1999 and one day I spent a few hours in the school of the kids I was looking after . I was really shocked seeing so much disrespect and hearing so much noise ! And the way the kids address the teacher with " du " and the teacher' s name .Here in France kids say " De" and " Sir / Miss" .Well , now The disrespect has come here too , as even kindergarten kids( some of them )kick their teacher and the teacher is not allowed to be harsh on such a kid . I think this world has gone crazy . The problem comes from parents that do not teach their children how to behave in this society . I guess 50 years ago parents were a bit too strict ... but now it is too much freedom . I' m against harsh punishment and violence on a child ... but a spank never killed anybody . Kids need to know the limits . Just my opinion . Have a nice day .

I'm Norwegian, and calling anyone "Sir/Miss" would get weird looks as it's seen as old-fashioned and if I heard it I would laugh, I don't even call my doctor by "Doctor", she would look weird at me if I did so. IT IS ABUSE

@@mommoffaFrench and norwegian cultures are different . Her they started to talk to me saying " De " and " Miss " when I was 11 years old .( some people , not everyone ) . My doctor calls me Ingrid and startes to say " du " last year because she 's been my doctor for over 12 years now and we talk a lot ( I listen to her a lot because she struggled with her husband and many problems ) .... but this is very little common . Usually patients call their doctor " Doctor " + the family name ...and the doctor calls you " M'am " + your family name . This is not weird . Just the right distance between a doctor and a patient . with friends or family it is different , obviously ! No , spanking is not abuse . It is education . I got spanked when I was little and I'm a very happy person . No nightmares because of that ! :) An old woman is not a child . An old woman is supposed how to behave . A child has everything to learn and must know that parents are the bosses and they decide . The child mustn't be spanked at once . But some kids do not listen even if you tell them 1000 times the same thing , over and over again , with a gentle voice ( like my nephew when he was little ) . So then ... a spank is fine .

Thank you for sharing your experience and perspective, It's interesting to hear your observations on the differences in behavior and addressing between schools in Norway and France. Indeed, cultural norms and educational approaches can vary from country to country. It's unfortunate that you've noticed a trend of increasing disrespect and behavioral challenges in schools, not just in Norway but also in France. You make an important point about the role of parents in teaching children how to behave in society. Parenting styles and societal expectations have evolved over time, and striking the right balance between freedom and setting boundaries can be a complex task. While opinions on discipline and punishment differ, it's crucial to prioritize non-violent approaches that promote understanding, empathy, and communication. Thank you for sharing your perspective and starting a conversation about these important topics. It's always valuable to hear different viewpoints and experiences. We hope you have a wonderful day in Paris, and feel free to reach out if you have any further thoughts or questions. :)

@@peacefulminimalist2028 l thank God that l was spanked by my father in my childhood if l crossed my limits. I respect him for doing so. That discipline has made me a well balanced person today . The love and respect between parents and children who have lived a disciplined life and taught their children how to lead a disciplined life is much more than between parents and teachers who leave their children to grow their own way without without any respect for their parents or teachers or the socity around them. That is why you find the Chinese, lndians , Japanese and most Asian societies thrive and grow and taking over the world whereas the European societies are declining. Europe is producing depressed, adicted misfits and Lazy people who requires other people to survive today. Very soon Europe will be taken over by Non Europeans.

If a child is taken away from mother then do you expect the mother to be normal? What foolishness is this Do you know a value of Mother? I can never agree with this rules of norway about children, even if someone pays me a big amount still i can never go to such countries,

This video uploader must be sent a legal notice from Indian government. In recent India children are not subjected to corporal punishment. The video uploader is spreading fake news about India may be for vested interest. I am warning this video uploader to stop denigrating India or else face legal action.

I've seen many comments below this movie's (a movie, not a documentary) trailer which might be constructed such as to create a certain opinion. The majority of the comments were made by Indians and were very hateful. I find this behavior extremely foolish, because there's no comparision in the difference of the treatment of children in India compared to the western countries, much less Norway. In India even today it's very, very normal for parents to beat your children with slaps, kicks, punches, sticks and belts, many times for even small reasons. Many times children have no right to state their opinion. Even an adult Indian can't even freely choose their own marriage partner, much less a kid stating their opinion. There have been many, many times where I've seen people threatening their kids to break their legs just because the kids were making some noise were playing. There was also one instance where an old man was telling his grand-daughter who was less than 10 years old that she should keep her hair long and not cut them because she's a woman/female. In short, verbal and physical abuse, and things like stereotyping is very common in India, however Indians will convieniently ignore all this since for them their culture is the greatest thing there is, while the other people are just barbarians. Such hypocrisy is extremely revolting and disgusting. I also find it weird how you guys try to showcase this topic. Not hitting your child (or anybody else for that matter), not forcing your beliefs on your child (again, or anybody else for that matter), acknowledging and respecting your child's opinions, helping your spouse equally in the house and being a good role modal for your children, etc. all these things are something which a properly civilized person would do, no matter where they are living and what culture they have. However you try to show as if this is just something 'western'. However the reality is that as long as you're not an asshole, you will always do these things. People forget that it's just a movie, and that there were many things about the case that were not publicly revealed. In the case the mother had also hit her child, but obviously they didn't show it in the movie. One really has to be blind to not see the difference in the way of living of children in Norway vs India.

Im etnic norwegian. Born in the 1960 ties. Many in my generation did get a hard time growing up. It was not unusual to get verbally abused or in some way also beaten up in our childhood. Its tabu to talk about here now. But It was just so. So it was within our culture aspecially on the countryside. Even inside the institusions for children it was found. In fact lots of it. I think we have to go another way with this. By counceling the parents rather then taking away the children. But ofcourse in some situations it must be done. As it is today we have totally forgotten our own past, and have to try to see it from both sides. But dont misunderstand me. There is NO reason for hitting a child. Or worse. NO reason. Just because it happend to us, doesnt mean its ok. We have to see it with the eyes of the child. Or the child abuse will be going into the next and the next generation.. as it sadly did. On the other side Barnevernet is doing alot of big mistakes. Those cant be easily repaired. The state should be the last one to traumatize children, but they do so even to day. It cant be tolerated.

@@yogiine The largest problem is that adults, unlike children, have already developed their ideologies and way of viewing their world. In addition to that, while it sounds discriminating or generalizing, many of these adults are unfortunately unable to look past their preconcieved biases and able to think logically. This is more so the case if the adult is conservative, where their way of thinking is based on belief instead of logical analysis. When it comes to immigrants, if they are stopped from 'disciplining' their children then they feel like they're being disciminated against because of their culture/religion/ethinicity,etc. which is absolutely ridiculous. This situation arises because their wrongdoings is already something normal to them and part of their worldview and way of life. Personally I've found this question quite difficult. If you softly enforce good rules, then people might not accept them openly. if you use force and resort to authoritarianism, then you become the very being you hated, since in this kind of regime there's no way to tell if the central command has become corrupted or not, and if it needs to be replaced. This is the question of 'who should have the power'. A good system with checks and balances is very difficult to create.

It is not only a movie but a real life story of a mother and her fight for her children. It is just like the many movies which are made on holocaust of Jews. They are not just masala movies made by a few Jew producers and financers but are real stories on the genocide of Jews. You are nothing but a arrogant , racist.

How much money did you make from the Norwegian government to be a foster mom. You are just one more business woman and your trade is to make money by bringing up foster children. How many families have you destroyed, How many mothers have you forced to commit suicide for loosing their most precious possession their children for earning your money. How many lives of children have you destroyed as most foster children turn out to be depressive, drug addict misfits. Shame.
