It's great to see the time, thought and monetary investment put into displaying a nation's art. It speaks volumes of their culture and heritage. It will quickly become a destination for visitors from all over the world. Thanks for this story - and showing the various aspects of the collection as well - from Munch's work/collection, to examples of influential designs of everyday objects and clothing, to care and study of the many pieces.

I see some paintings in perspex boxes. As a painter I mainly go to art museums to get really close to the surface of the paint, which tells me a lot. Surely there must be another way to protect them.

I do too. If I could bring a magnifying glass in I probably would.

There is a very good written article about bringing a sunken wood ship to a museum, that also took decades. I think it was also Norway. The very expensive ship sank during its first voyage, similar to the Titanic.

I do not understand why this valuable and stolen and recovered art is not protected in glass like the the Mona Lisa ? We have CRAZY people everywhere ???
@Youtube_Stole_My_Handle_Too2 жыл бұрын
When putting a painting into glas you degrade the experience to street art level. Could just as well place it in a vault. Thus, vulnerability is the cost of fine art, just like a woman. You cannot enjoy her in armor.

Not enough diversity, I was there, I saw nothing representing Latinos, blacks, lgbtqcaca, Asians, jews, North Africans, dogs and cats.

Of course ! It is a Museum meant to represent Scandinavian art.... You must not have listened carefully to what the art director Karen says:, "we want to tell the story about Norway but also to tell the story about Norway in the world" "we want to reshape the identity of Scandinavian art" !! Please, do NOT be so quick to criticize and to want to see discrimination where there is none.
@karlabritfeld71042 жыл бұрын
Geeze, it's not about YOU! This is Norway and they can do whatever they want. Always someone complaining.

@@mariejosf yeah this diversity crap is really getting OLD. I mean dogs and cats??? There's always someone complaining that they're not being "represented." I'm tired of it.

@@karlabritfeld7104 No, lol, they don’t actually believe any of that, there being facetious and trying to mock others
