Our Norwegian road trip began in Oslo. We rented a car (it was v expensive tbh...but we soon find out that's all of Norway) and took on an 8 HOUR DRIVE. I know, insane.
But driving pass Norway's nature and insane views, 8 hours flew by SO fast. I really recommend renting a car because you're going to want to stop and take lots of photos.

Did an 4-week-Scandinavia-road trip with my parents a few years ago. Started in Germany, to Sweden, through Finnland till the north cape Norway then went all the way back passing the sea side and small islands in Norway, till Sweden and then back to Germany. All in my dad‘s self built motorhome/caravan 😁 Norway’s countryside is beautiful

Fantastic video thanks for uploading, I am taking my family on a 16-day road trip in the summer of 2018 in a 7 seater from UK through northern Sweden to Helsinki and Helsinki to Nordkapp via Rovaniemi and Nordkapp back to the UK via Tromso, Senja, Lofoten Islands, Trondheim, Alesund, Bergen, Stavanger, Oslo and on to the UK. Could you please share your camping, cabin experiences and where to camp or book cabins on the way from Nordkapp to Oslo, and if we do free camping how do we have a bath, because we are going up north via Sweden to Nordkapp and any other advice and things to pack, since we are travelling with 3 children under 8 years old, we plan to do a mixture of cabins, campgrounds and Airbnb up north to make it more adventurous for the kids and more hotels and Airbnb as we get down south, thanks

As a Norwegian I can tell you that yes, we are friendly, but we value and respect peoples personal space very much. Which means, we are not used to strangers suddenly talking to us, so we might seem confused for 2 sec if you do talk to someone randomly. But after the short surprise and confusion, most of us are very friendly, and you'll see that most of us can understand and speak English quite well. It's just wise to have in mind that it's normal for Norwegians to be reserved. But the funny thing is, when we go on a trip in the nature, like for example to the pulpit rock, people are saying hello to everyone they pass by, and some even stop to have a chat with the strangers they meet.
