Now on to my "real" post... I love how you both not only give us ship tours and videos of of the places that the ship visits, but you also give a capstone of the overall experience of that particular ship and ports... This helps with single cruisers (like I'm going to be) be able to make an informed decision about our next cruise... So, thank you both for doing this and may all your cruises be wonderful... (Oooh, that's a good tag line for an outro... I might keep it for my own vids...)

I've been trying to get on the Encore since she came out, I hope to finally be able to sail on my B2B to Bermuda in November. I love NCL and especially the Breakaway Plus ships, so it will be nice to see how they've incorporated the best of all the ships into the Encore. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I'm not a first time cruiser but I haven't been on a cruise since I was in my teens. My first cruise was on Royal and then I went on two with Holland America.Now that I am an adult I have been wanting to go another cruise and share the experience with friends, and I'm really liking how you present the ships from a real prospective I def enjoy watchin the vlogs and gave subbed to the channel I will keep watchin and share my experience once I book my cruise

We loved the Irish Pub feeling too on the Escape. Yes its the same layout (on newer ships) , but just not as fun. Race Cars!!! woot woo!

That's how we are with HAL, the ship layouts are generally the same, you always know where everything pretty much is, not much of a learning curve. -All the food in your videos looked amazing! The seafood night is a great idea, wish all ships did this, HAL tends to do a surf n turf night once per week, but an all seafood would be fantastic! Thanks for the full thorough review, you all do a great job on these!!

We just saw Choir of Man on the Escape a week ago. I was the person who was serenaded to ( My Valentine) at the first show. My husband and I went to the second show and sat on the opposite side of the theater and he was chosen to sit at the table building the coaster tower. What was the odds of that???? Such an amazing show!!!! I loved choir of Man and can’t wait to see them as they tour the US.

Excellent job! I've never heard of mascarpone butter because mascarpone is a cheese. Period. I think the kitchen may have blended the mascarpone with butter to make it a very smooth spread. The "one and done" is a perfect way to categorise these new attractions and Vibe that have taken away the open deck space. BTW, Kiinky Boots is actually based on the true story originally featured in a documentary about a shoe factory in Northamptonshire, about 2 hours northwest of London!

Lol at you eating the butter and thinking it’s cheese. I did the same on a trip to Paris France. I had ordered a cheeseboard to finish my dinner with. I picked up a lump of ‘cheese’ and it was butter. I styled it out even though a big gob of butter isn’t nice to eat. Think I got away with it. The Kinky Boots story is based on real life events, I’ve seen it on stage twice too.

Hate to ask. But we just did the Epic. And they had 2 smoking areas(one front and one back of ship) plus the casino. Thought that was good. Is it same on this ship?

Have you been on an older Norwegian? I imagine it would be really different in terms of lines in the buffet if the layout is old school. Probably more similar to Carnival? We are going on an older Norwegian ship but I won't have any expectations for it to be comparible to the ships you have been on because they are newer ships. I will let you know how it compares to older Carnival and Royal.

Brenda Lee I’ve been on the Gem. We loved it! The decor was awesome! Of course not as much to do on the smaller ship, but we went on the Gem less then a year after sailing the breakaway and we liked the feel of the Gem more. It’s definitely a more cozy feeling. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. The one drawback was the garden cafe. It was so small that it was so hard finding a seat. We had to stand there and stalk peoples tables to hopefully make it to the table before anyone else...lol

Thanks for your review. It looks like a great ship and I have been on 3 different NCL. I am always looking for more activities for my son who is almost 13 to do and this one looks like there was alot of fun ones. On the Getaway they had a dinner theater show that was fantastic, food was good but the show was amazing (not sure if they still have it) It was like a magic/illusion show with steampunk vibe.

To the claim that entertainers play only one role..... We sailed the Bliss out of Miami when she was new and at that time entertainment was Jersey Boys and the pop up Beatles show along with another main shown we skipped. The Beatles played different era titles depending on what night you caught them. At the end of the cruise the Beatles did a main theater show combining all era shows at the end of which they introduced themselves and they infact were the main cast from Jersey Boys. Id be willing to bet they are all in the Choir of Man show! They wer fantastic in both productions.

I love you guys but I would hate to see football on that big screen in the center Atrium. Not everyone enjoys it and people can get very loud and boisterous. I would rather they keep football in the sports bar or outside on the big screen.

I HATE how NCL has super short port stays. They need to skip the middle stops and make the final destination longer. Also you should be able to dispute daily gratuity. Booking shows is a joke and go carts should be licensed and unlicensed drivers. Food is fantastic though. Going when you want is how all cruises should be.

We just got back form a cruise on the Encore. Liked everything except the people working security to get back on the ship. We thought they were very rude and obnoxious. I know the ship has to have security but the people "welcoming" you back don't have to act like 'butt-heads". Made TSA people look like everyone's best friends.

my family and i went on encore a few weeks back and Honestly I was disappointed. This was my 3rd cruise on Norwegian and my familys first. I Spent a year telling them how great it was to only be let down and i think most of it has to do with the newness of the ship and several changes they have made in the past few years. 1. YOU MUST RESERVE RESTAURANTS - on my past 2 cruises if you didnt mind waiting for a table for 20 minutes or so you could go to a restaurant at any time and even on the reservation boards it says under status "worth the wait" so we went to Ocean blue and was told no theyre booked and dont bother and then the following night we tried to get into Cagneys and was told the same that we needed reservations. we were going at 8 pm no not like we were there at 5pm. 2. Free Style Dining - Slightly miss leading in my opinion. Several times we went to a restaurant or the garden cafe and they were closed. maybe we eat at weird times but i dont remember this on my past 2 cruises. we went when we were hungry and they had a burger bar open at like 1030 on the pool deck. thats all gone. if you show up to the garden cafe at 1030-1130 they will be closed. that was annoying. my mom is a diabetic and didnt eat breakfast and we had to scramble to find her something . eventually found a self serve ice cream machine but that was annoying. 3. Bad Food. We had 2 specific instances i can remember where we had bad food. first time was at breakfast in the free restuants by the main dining. we waited about an hour for our food and when we finally got it, it was all cold. we werent happy. 2nd time we went to the BBQ Place. They messed up our order and when we got the food it was just bad. most of us didnt finish our plates. 4. Rude Staff. Only a few instances but i wanted to put this here because it was so out of character for Norwegian. like i said this is my 3rd cruise. Never had any issues on the past ships. One specific instance was a bartender at the cagneys bar. we were trying to order a drink but we didnt know what the drink was (half empty in front of us) it was busy so we were waiting our turn. the bartender snatched up the drink trying to clean off the counter and my mother said wait wait what was that and the bar tender dumpped in down the drain and said ill be with you when its your turn. we walked away. another instance is related to us having trouble getting in to specialty restaurant. we had pre paid for 3 nights. we had been denied several times waiting at doors in like a stand by line only to be rejected and all of the screens around the boat werent allowing reservations so on the 3rd night we went to guest services saying how do we get into restaurants. we informed him that we had prepaid and that if we cant get in we would need a refund and hes like its already the 3rd day and why havent you used them to which we responded we have been trying. We had 3 places we REALLY wanted to go which was cagneys ocean blue and tapanyiki. he did manged to get us into tapenyaki at 10 pm. and put us into the mexican restaurant and the bbq restaurant. my family is from texas and my Fiancée is mexican. Neither restaurants were up to my standard of how much we paid for the dining package. 5. Pool Deck. I understand that they had to make room for the go carts and laser tag but the pool deck is tiny. They have signs everywhere saying you cant hold chairs and that staff with remove items from vacant chairs to make room but they dont. Its impossible to find a chair. and they only have 4 hot tubs for 3000 guests unless you pay the 200 for the vibe. we wanted to but on the second day they had already sold out. IMO the hot tubs need to be children free as well. several times we went up to the pool deck trying to get in only to have all 4 hot tubs with 3 adults and 34 kids. staff need to do something about that. there is a whole kids area that the kids can be in they dont need to be in the adult area. they have also changed the rules on the pool deck about drinks. no longer can you have drinks in the hot tubs. and not only that staff actually came and took them away from us. which is fine we had the drink package and didnt know but on past cruises we actually had staff come up to the hot tubs take our cards from us and deliver us drinks to the tubs. we were a little put off by that. and finally they close the Pool deck WaYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too early. Shut the pools down fine but hot tubs and bars close at 10 pm. with the tubs being full wwith kids all day the only time you can even get in is after they go to bed why do they need to close the hot tubs. they should leave open one bar on the deck and leave the tubs open til AT LEAST mid night. were on vacation why do we have to go to bed by 10. Overall. I dont regret going on the cruise but it was Well Below my expectation that i had of Norwegian. I Wanted to book another cruise on board as we want to go to alaska but my mom and Fiancée talked me out of it saying there has to be better options. Im just sad that this cruise wasnt what i expected. We will be strongly considering another liner for the rest of our travels.
