To clear things up for my knowledge challenged fellow Americans: we had NATO allies with us in that theater of operations. Including the Norwegians. Norway was a founding member of NATO way back when. It is not Sweden, a neutral non-NATO country. The current NATO Secretary-General is Mr. Stoltenberg of Norway, the former Prime Minister of that country. Ignorance is not bliss. Please learn who the NATO allies are. We tend to think only of the Brits, but we have other partners.

Cant' really say we are neutral. We've been in Afghanistan for 12 years, Kosovo before that, bombed the living daylights out of Gadaffi in Libya, Cold war, world war 2 etc, etc. Sweden is the neautral one :-)

We got hit once a week or so. It's pretty dangerous, the media doesn't show how bad it really is. But it does get boring. 12 hours sitting in a truck just driving around.

I find it unusual the armed personnel inside of the hospital towards the end. By having armed persons inside of the hospital it would remove Geneva protections from the hospital. At least that is how it was explained to us back when I was in the military (early 90s).

How would you like me to prove it? I deployed to RC North Afghanistan in April 2010 this happened August 7th at the end of a three day raid on a village named khwaja kinti. Myself and about 8-9 others got medevaced. If you're asking me to prove that was me by showing you pictures or videos, then sorry. I was too busy trying not to be killed.

René Jørgensen Red Cross have nothing to do with the military. Red Cross is a corporation, like "Redd Barna" and "Frelsesarmeen" ;) If the Norwegian state or the military want some medical team, they will draw in "Leger Uten Grenser" :)
