Is this true that even after successful transplantation for the rest of our life we need to take Finasteride to retain transplanted hair? If no how doctor determines that particular patients are exempted from taking finasteride for life long post hair transplantation?

Finasteride is for the preservation of the pre existing hair and important for those patients who have retrograde alopecia. Normally, baldness tends to stabilize by the 50s and thats when people can discontinue the medication if desire to do so. If patients do not care about saving the pre existing hair then they must be prepared to go for another transplant as new areas become bald due to alopecia.
