It is saying that like any industry there are cowboys, some people don't do their due diligence to sort through them and it's important to research; that's not fear mongering. Turkish person here. This trend also causes massive shortage of dermatologists in the rest of the country. In my hometown of Keşan (population 85.000) where there are 4 hospitals (3 of them private), we went without a dermatologist for three years, and currently we only have one. In the nearby city of Tekirdağ (population 1 million) there are only 5. So this industry really needs to be more regulated, both for the sake of medical tourists and local citizens who require the services of dermatologists for reasons other than hair treatment.
@carlospp953 жыл бұрын
I'm sure that a lot of people will want to study dermatology now, so I don't think regulation would be the solution, but mainly new students who will take pursue that career if turkey has such a need for dermatologists.
@leamariedesilva67403 жыл бұрын
@@carlospp95 You don't study dermatology. You study medicine and train as a dermatologist at a teaching hospital for four years, and there are limited spots. And since you can't double the dermatology spots overnight and even if you did it would take several years for new dermatologists to enter the heath service, we absolutely need to regulate the existing system and distribute them according to need.

@@leamariedesilva6740 In other words, you DO study dermatology, just as a specialization which takes place after achieving MD status. Just pay the dermatologist more to do what you want them to do instead of what they currently want to do. Regulate that stuff without care and you end up with the bad kind of socialism. Alternative solutions would be to embrace the trade and set up a standard for hair transplant specialists that doesn't require 12 years of schooling. Meeting the standard could even be optional, but customers wouldn't want to go to places that don't. Alternatively, focus on the training side, things like cutting scholarships to dubiously useful degrees and applying the extra funding towards MD scholarships. There's a few ways to work it, they tend to boil down to have it now and suffer a society in the future or suffer now and grow as a society in the future. I come from a society where everything is regulated to the point where people choose to die rather than get expensive medical help. You don't want to be like us

I'm from Turkiye and my wife is an anesthesiologist M.D. in a public hospital. Yes, such prosedures become huge business here in Turkiye but that's not just about the prices alone. Turkish MDs are one of the best educated and experienced ones in the world. After the high school students took a general examination. One gotto be in the top 0.2% for the medical university education which is at least 6 years of education alone. TWhen they graduated they go for obligatory public service for 1-2 years depend on the location. Then they took an exam for the specific branch, usually 35% of them can pick a specific branch so its 35% of 0.2% ; creme de la creme. 4-6 years for the specification and then 1-2 years obligatory public service again just to get recognition and permission to perform as an M.D. So totally it tooks 12 years of education minimally just to perform as an M.D. here in Turkiye. Besides that, Turkish citizens pay a symbolic fee for the health care services so it creates a huge ''patient pool'' for the doctors. In some cities, MD's are taking care of 300-400 people in a day which is much much higher then the world standarts. They are getting too much experience in a short time span. For comparison, an avarage anestesist in UK maybe does 5 operations in a day but my wife does 20 a day minimum.That creates huge difference in experience which makes Turkish MDs one of the most experienced ones in the world. So when you go to a Turkish doctor chances are high that s/he has experience then the ones at UK or USA. I can bet on those ''fancy'' MDs in those countries couldn't even imagine to achieve that :) A complete package of theorically and practically educated MDs service with relatively low cost is hella bargain IF your in the hands of MDs, not nurses or technicians. If you decide to get such prosedures I suggest you to focus on proper clinics with MDs performing. Don't get robbed just by watching such ''fearfull'' videos :)

I am living in Toronto and I had my dental implants and hair transplant in Turkey as well. HTT Medical Group helped me find the best dental and hair clinics in Turkey and they arranged everything for me. I had 8 implants for total $10k and hair transplant around $2k accommodations and local transfers included. They are not charging a penny on top of your quotation. They have agreements with clinics I think. They know what are your rights and it is very important to know your rights =) I am very happy I did it. I was 47, that's when I started to thin on the top of my head. Sure, I began to mourn the loss of the hairs on top of my head. I over the next year began to accept the thinning of the hairs on top of my head. Now, at 52, the only pain I get from the thinning of the hair on top my head is when the sun beats down on top of my head. So, I've come to accept and embrace my thinning hair looks/or loss on top of my head, it now just has trouble growing and has a different feel and texture than the other hairs on the rest of my head.
