Don't judge a game by the reviews. I'm glad I didn't, this game is pretty good. Starts off slow and a lot of dialogue at first but then when you get to the part where you're helping the Shadow faction, it starts to open up more and be more fun

I was able to play for 2 hours today before having to do the whole Halloween trick-or-treat situation as soon as I tuck the kids in tonight and finish handing out this candy I will be back at it.... and I'm sure I will stay up way too late but that's okay maybe it'll take me back to Origins and when I was young again LOL

Thanks for the tips! I’m sort of stumbling through the game right now figuring things out as I go. I’m having a ton of fun doing it, though! Edit: That tip at the end about organizing your companion skills is a really good idea.

I wanted to make a full mage team since Bellara is a lighting Archer/Mage and Neva is Ice Control Mage. I planned on being the melee mage with Spellblade, but the skill combos being strictly one 1 class kinda kills that. WIsh all classes has ATLEAST one prime and detonate of each. Over the years, I've kinda hated a "trinity" system in terms of RPG teams. Making wacky teams have always been more fun in games. Example like a Full warrior team in Dragon dogma was full as hell due to how much you ragdoll everything. I don't recall Dragon Age Inquisition having one 1 type of combo per class restrictions since you could combo with all though damage was just higher with different classes and different effects.

The combat is easy enough that you don't need primers and detonators.

You might be able to pull this off with Runes and other types of high end gear to prime and detonate combos. Worse some to worse, just customize the difficulty to your liking in the Combat options so you don't have to use combos. After 17 hours, no combos on anything but Nightmare difficulty should be fine if you're competent at action combat. I too love running all Mage, all Rogue, all Warrior parties and had loads of fun running around with Varric, Cole, Sera and my Archer Artificer in Inquisition. Pew pew pew for days and crits all over my screen.

@@mandu6665 That's something I hope appears on runes. so far I mainly been doing fine in Underdog mode without ability combos. Lightning has been doing well in terms of crowd control and knockdowns. I'm going the Medium Passive armor route with Lightning + Burn. My Takedowns are where my big damage / Invincible frames come in. I haven't unlocked the Parry follow up for my Dagger Orb yet But I'm liking my speed and mob clear.

Lol, I thought I was the only one. My first NorZZa video was a Witcher 3 one when CDPR put out the update a few years ago and the "Lllllllllllllllet's go!" got me to subscribe alongside the soothing (Aussie or Kiwi? Apologies to NorZZa because I'm a product of the American education system!! Don't hold it against me! Lol) voice.

Hate videos making people money is the worst thing to happen to games. Not MTX, not corporate greed, not pre-order bonuses. Just angry dorks making shitty, disingenuous hate videos and getting paid for it. This hobby is supposed to be about fun yet there are too many people that get big mad about people having fun.

I don't think every KZbinr is hating. Watched SkillUp's review and his issues with the game were extremely valid and I share some of his issues with the writing, but damn am I starting to have fun with the game. When a build starts coming together is a thing of beauty.

@ the majority of KZbinrs were definitely hating on it before release calling it 'doomed' or 'failed' and similar words. I wonder if their tones changed after actually playing it.

IF they add Ng+ to this game in the future, it’ll be fantastic ! ! (Unfortunately we can’t take this option right now, the max level is LV50, not sure about max skill points).

Do you have to use skill wheel to make companions atrack or if i dont care about combos can they just use their skills at their will

Some of them can be used at their discretion with you get the upgrade but primarily you trigger their abilities. For example, Bellara has a healing ability that I can cast but I have an upgrade where she heals me when I reach a low health status level. Useful when I want to focus on being aggressive instead of parrying/blocking.

You can hold down L2/LT(the shortcut menu) and it’ll have 2 buttons(their skills) for each companion on the left hand side and the right hand side. Hope this helps.

Yes. Got a couple hours in. It has some cheesy dialogue here and there but the characters are like-able. Combat is fun. Currently level 7.

Played 6 hours. I really like it, although the dialogues could be better. But it is fun, it seems a bit like ME 2 in Thedas. Dont understand the haters. It is woke, but you can ignore it, in English at least, german translation is horrific.
