Thank You for tuning in. I think tasting wines on camera is essential part of discussing them. We all can read critics views and descriptors, but we will never know how we feel about them unless we taste them ourselves.

Celebrating our last night in Australia, at a Chinese Restaurant of all things, my wife and I had a bottle of the 2013 Dom Perignon. And before getting the Coravin for Champagne, we bought a case of half bottles of the Krug. I agree with your overall assessment; both are wonderful. I might not be as articulate as you in describing them, but you seem right on. However, my two favorite Champagne selections are Cristal and, most favorite, Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill. I think both outshine DP and Krug. I also like the non-vintage Pol Roger for an ordinary sparkler, and I think that the Vintage Pol Roger (their intermediate wine) stacks up well against both DP and Krug.

I found Dom Pérignon 2015 for 250 today. Usually in the big stores (in Los Angeles) they go for 300+. But I'm baby sitting my Siberians 🐺 from the fireworks today, sick, so I settled for 3 bottles of Corpinnat instead. I also found some 2021 Raymond Usseglio & Fils Chateauneuf du Pape that I wanted to get but had to say to myself next week 😆.

I understand what You mean, I am fortunate in that way, my dog is not really bothered by the fireworks. Some people told me it is because they are bread hunting dogs, so they shouldn’t be afraid of loud noises. But I also have never trained him in that way. Corpinnat sounds really lovely, You should be in good hands! ✨

@@NoSediment it's only 2 out of 6. The rest aren't bothered by them. The Corpinnat was great. I found Gramona Imperial 2014 at a liquor store near work. Not some nice liquor, one a sketchy-sque area but I couldn't believe it because the big stores don't carry any Corpinnat.

Hi Agnese, great video and perfect timing as I have just attended a tasting with LVMH. Had blanc and rose Dom Ruinart NV and 2015 DP and Krug. My review was very similar to yours. I found the DP to be rounder but I preferred the Krug as it was brighter and a little more acidic. A few days before, I had attended a tasting with Maison Marques & Domaines and tasted Cristal ( 2015 if I remember correctly ) and the 2016 Roderer Rose, the latter being a big surprise as I preferred it to ther Cristal. It was pale, dry, crisp and not sweet at all. I believe, as with most of these champagnes, that the dosage was around 7g - I must admit to totally blowing my budget this Christmas season. Cheers and best wishes for the holidays.

They’re both excellent…but Pol Winston is my favorite; and I look forward to our Winston day in March - Salon is good too but too expensive for all but a fancy one-off. Oh, and the Andre Clouet 1911 (name, not vintage), best value.

Could not agree more about Clouet 1911! The value for money is off the charts, in my opinion. And Pol Winston is magnificent as well. I was lucky enough to pick up a bottle of 1990 and a 1998 together with a couple of wine geek friends.

As I have gotten older I find I prefer sparkling Rieslings more. There are several Finger Lakes wineries that make Sparkling Rieslings that are just heavenly. But then I love my acidity, so Riesling, Sparkling Riesling, Late Harvest Riesling and Riesling Ice Wine all make my mouth water.

Sveiki, Agnese! I tried Dom Pérignon only once (a 2003 vintage that I bought in 2013 and opened in 2021). It was delicious, although I really think some producers (Bérèche, Philipponnat) come really close with their "basic" cuvées, for a third or a quarter of the price. That said, I would never refuse a glass of DP 😅 Curiously, my only wine purchase at this year's Black Friday was a bottle of Krug Grand Cuvée 171ère, because the price (in Brazil) was just 15 euro above the price in France, and I'm not going to open it right now. I like the "low key, classical" marketing of Krug, in opposition to Dom Pérignon's, but in the end the wine is the only thing that really matters. Let's see how it goes when I open it, although I'm not in a hurry - even if I've never tried Krug before... I'm curious as to how would LVMH's third cuvée prestige, La Grande Dame, would behave among these two bottles you tried in the video. Priecīgus Ziemassvētkus!

I noticed that many wine bloggers like to call this grape variety just "meunier" for some reason, and not "pinot meunier" as it should be. And other thing: every wine blogger talks about 3 grape variety used in champagne region by the law. Yes,mainly there are this 3 varieties. But by the law of champagne apelation you can use 7 grape varieties. Why nobody talks about it?
@NoSediment
@NoSediment 17 күн бұрын
Well, it was in one of the lectures of Champagne, that winemakers of the region noted that apparently Meunier is not relative to a Pinot Noir, so they advised to simply call it Meunier, to avoid any confusion. And I have done so ever since, or at least I try to do so. There are actually 8 grapes permitted in Champagne, but the three You mentioned are the main ones, and of course it makes a lot of sense to talk about those that are most planted and make up majority of the wines. However, if You want to know more about the less known grapes of Champagne I advise You watch my interview with Aurelien Laherte, we touched upon this subject.
@fanta_c
@fanta_c 17 күн бұрын
@NoSediment thank you. I'll watch your intervew. For example: pinot blanc(or pinot gris) - you don't call it "blanc" or "gris". You call it pinot blanc and pinot gris. There are people who also call "cabernet sauvignon" just "cabernet", without specification of "sauvignon" or" franc". Actually,my point was not about other 4(5)varietes,but about talking that 3 varietes (chardonay,pinot noir and pinot meunier) are the only allowed. That's it. By the way: Constantin Baum also calls pinot meunier just "meunier" :) although I like you both despite everything :))
@NoSediment
@NoSediment 16 күн бұрын
@@fanta_cactually, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris are directly linked with Pinot Noir, those are Pinot Noir color mutations. There can be instances where one vine (Pinot Noir) will have one bunch or one cane producing only white or only pink skinned grapes. So we can actually see this in real life, often found in Burgundy or Champagne. So it makes sense to keep the “Pinot” in front of the color description of the grapes. I hope this helps! 🥂🥂🥂
@fanta_c
@fanta_c 16 күн бұрын
@@NoSediment hi. As I mentioned before,my point mostly was about saying that only 3 varietes allowed in Champagne :) but..we can stop it here,it's ok. I delivered my message :) If wine bloggers want to keep that in mind for next time it will be good. But they,actually,don't have to. I'm not going to force anyone 😁 Anyway,I like your videos very much! Well done! Keep it up 🤘
