I'm very astounded, how widely popular the 308 is still today. It's always been a great cartridge. I don't think it's going anywhere, no matter what else comes out. And it's one of the most economical cartridges to shoot right now.

@@SocialRegressive…AMEN to that…it is not going away anytime soon! I used to hear predictions (even from gun store employees) that the .30-.30 and .35 Remington were going to be made of “no more wantieum alloy” in the next few years (and this was 25-30 years ago and while both cartridges suffered availability issues from the latest ammunition bull crap…they are still viable cartridges here in the South…shoot, I still see .250-3000 Savage Model 99s in the local woods)…bottom line being, “Legacy chamberings” (especially those with military or family history) ain’t going away 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

I like the whole family lol 243 win, 7mm08 rem, and 308 win. They all seem to be good shooters.

The 308 is a great cartridge. It's not the best at anything really but it's really good at so many things it's super versatile whether you want to shoot lightweight 130s or heavy 180s it'll do it. I think 165 is the sweet spot for 308. You're right you can get really cheap ammo for 308 just for having fun. Thank you 👍

I am a Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator, and my Specialty is Feral & Coyotes and culling Deer. Hog Hide is much tougher that dear Hide and flesh I would like to see this same test with the .350 Legend on the 20% Ballistic blocks with the 150 & 180 grain Winchester Ammo .I think the 20% is closer to Hog Hide & Flesh tested 100 yards 200 yards. Thanks as always, I enjoyed this video. I have used .22lr , .223 , 5.56mm , .300 BO .308 9mm .350 Legend 12 Gauge buck shot 1oz slugs to kill Hogs when a head shot is scored at 50 - 100 Yards with these calibers the Hogs were all Killed even the .22lr 40 Grain HP CCI Velocitor at 1435 fps puts them down .

Excellent 👍. I've never used the accubon but I have used the partition. I used to use the 165 grain partition in a 3006 or moose hunting in Alaska and it did very well. I never had to pull the trigger more than once. Thank you 👍

Accubond is not. Can't you see how much lead it sheds. Fine for varmints or animals not eaten. Extremely bad if you intend to eat the meat and who doesn't?

Love accubonds. I use 165's and 180's in my 300 win mag. 165's for whitetails out to 400 with no issue. I normally use a 7mm08 rem for whitetails but every now and then I take the big guy for a walk to do some longer range stuff mostly just to prove to myself that I can still do it 🤣😂🤣😂

I love Accubond, but the prices have been crazy since "Ammogedon". I've seen them as high as $69.99. I believe I was paying right at $35 to $40 before the ammo crunch. I've taken whitetail, hogs, black bear, and elk with the 165 gr. Nothing's run past 40 yards on me and most were DRT. No complaints about accuracy either. I took an antelope at 664 yards with it 3 years ago.

I would love to see the accubond compared to the ballistic tip at distance. (say 300 yards) My goto 30 call projectile come deer season is the 150 hornady SST. This bullet is directly comparable to the nosler ballistic tip.

Ive never shot AccuBonds out of my .308. I would try them but Ive settled on SST's for deer. They blow up at any range( unlike monos).👍

I wonder how much of the projectile weight was the polymer tip. That may be where some of the lost weight went.

Nice video again. Thanks. Your load seems to be on the slower side, if I am correct. I‘ve been trying to get these to group in my 1:11 twist rate barrel. Just don‘t work. I wish they would like yours. But the 165 Accubonds do fine. Cheers.

Yeah, mine's a 1:10. I'm glad the 168s work in yours. That weight is kind of a sweet spot of velocity and ballistic efficiency.

Accubonds are scarcer than hen's teeth. Hornady Interbonds are non existant. This left me with no choice but the TTSX. It was a pain in the @$$ to develop new loads across a range of cartridges. Those are working out fine. I'm not sure I can go back even if these bullets become available again. Thanks for the vid.

If that’s really the issue on a few hunting rounds, start reloading. Used Lee single stage and a used 308 set plus a cheap scale, brass from the range. Sure bullet, powder and primer prices suck - but you should still be half price

Nice test. Would be great if you could put the ES and SD on screen. Just watching that looked quite inconsistent. Would you say that those are average speeds for a 150 grain with your 22’. Asking because I get 2650 with my handloads out of my 16‘ and that’s within the pressure envelope for 308.

On the deer I've taken with this bullet I have never found a bullet. Always goes through even on bone. Index finger entry wound, fist size exit wound, and organs are soup. They are worth the price of admission. They will work on anything in North America depending on rifle caliber.

Great question. The Ballistic Silvertip uses Winchester's own non-bonded bullet. Winchester sells Accubond loads, too, including the Accubond Long Range (ABLR) bullets.

Nosler Accubond bullets do not expand with peddles they expand in any form of peeled back copper jacks and most often what I have seen as an Alaskan hunting guide the Nosler Accubond is a Gimmick bullet that blows up like all lead core bullets do. These Accubond bullets might be alright in low energy rifles like deer guns 30-06 but in rifles like 300 win mag the Accubond fails to stay together every shot fired. I had to fire 6 175 grain 7 mm Accubonds from a 7 mm rem mag into a 400 pound black bear to get the bear to stay down because the Accubonds blew up on impacting the bear. The 7th bullet fired that put the bear down for good was a 150 grain 7 mm Barns TSX bullet that passed all the way through the bear.

Nosler makes a 160gr accubond, not a 175gr. The 175gr is a long range accubond, totally different bullets that tends to blow up.
