After dirtying ourselves by hanging out with filth Digimon, we return to investigate every nook and cranny of the File Island and recruit the remaining Digimon. In this chapter we actually recruit EVERY Digimon not associated with the final dungeon. We resolve the problems of Factorial Town, get spooked in the Grey Lord’s Mansion, visit the Ice Sanctuary and finish Freezeland… then we go on an extensive fishing trip, which leads us to Beetle Land. So much to do, so much to see… This chapter is filled with exploration and encounters with Digimon, which is a nice break of pace. I also tried different… styles in this video. I’m happy that, for now, we’re mostly DONE with the mechanics, as this makes my job and life a little bit easier.
Audio is still my biggest nemesis. The video editing software still keeps messing it up. I hope it is actually ok and I won’t have to change it later.
I cannot thank enough everyone whose work I used in this project. I am especially grateful to those who took the game apart and passed on this knowledge in an understandable way, because without them I would still be in the dark about many of aspects of the game.
Before releasing this video I rewatched it multiple times (in parts, but never as the complete video), but I’m pretty sure there are some errors I missed (be it graphical or typos). …or sound.
This is the third (well, technically fourth) part of my guide/walkthrough/let’s play/retrospective/review of Digimon World 1 (PS1). You can watch the first part here: • [NOSTALGIA] - an intro...

Next episode will be shorter - it’s actually going to be a side Chapter, not directly related to the playthrough… but I have some beef to resolve (with the professional reviewers). We’ll also see what the Internet of the early 2000s had to say about the game, check out the game’s advertisements and you’ll see my personal review of the game.
Thank you, Dear Viewer, for being a part of this Project. It means a lot to me.
Chodyna
Also... I managed to release it earlier. Just in time for my friend's birthday. Happy Birthday, Smok.

Another very good video. I already said it but I'll say it again - really love this series. Can't wait for the next one! After the series ends, I think I'll finally pick up my game again and finish recruiting the Digimon I'm still missing and doing the rest of the RetroAchievements list.

Thanks again for commenting and for watching the video as soon as it was possible! You don't even know how much it means to me that someone has enjoyed my video, it makes it all worth it, you know? I strongly suggest playing the game again! Though I'm afraid that watching my videos could spoil the magic a little bit. I checked out the achievement list for Digimon World and it looks... even more painful than what I did. I orignally wanted to go for collecting every item in the game (which is apparently needed for the complete achievement list), but realized that it would be too much of a hassle. ...good luck with Perfect in Curling! ...though, I suppose that with save states it could be fine (waiting for the perfect stones set and saving at the beginning of the match). Once more - thanks for supporting me!

The worst experience I've ever had with Mamemon was actually when the game froze after I beat him. Holding the button also works when fishing, so you don't need to be tapping. And you can also trigger Yukidarumon in the screen where you land on after using Birdramon Transport, but the igloo one is probably more relieable to get since it's a smaller area with less annoying enemies.

Huh! Never knew that you can trigger Frigimon on other screens! That's really interesting, thanks for sharing (also, Birdra Transporting into Freezeland is a trap - it's so easy to get ambushed by a Digimon here that it isn't even funny). As for fishing - yes, that's true. From my experience, though, tapping has durability-to-distance value. But that as well might be just magical thinking or habit. ...I can imagine your experience with Mamemon to be quite traumatic. It's quite a long battle after all. Lately I discovered that boss fight can be pretty glitchy. Years ago I got a "freeze" after a fight with Kokatorimon. This year, my friend who I talked into playing, got locked after the second fight with Garurumon. Both cases were on emulators, so it wasn't from disc being to damaged. They weren't freezes per se because the game kept going. It was like recruited Digimon got stuck while going to the city and the game couldn't progress. I wonder if there are more Digimon that can proc this.

Yeah, the game finishes loading a few seconds before it shows you the screen, so the enemy digimon area already after you before you know it. I developed the habit of holding up every time I fly there to avoid the digimon.

I could swear that I heard that ominous door opening sound in another game... I think star wars pod racing? Well or a variation of it

To be honest, most of the game's sound effects seems to be stock sounds so... it's quite likely that it was used in other games. One Digimon sounds, for example, was used in Black & White for PC. Quite interesting, huh? I'm gonna investigate the Star Wars: racer lead, though. Thanks for comment!

Excellent video! Your videos are so enjoyable! May I ask you how you have gotten the specifics of the techs that the game doesn't show you (like accuracy)? Is there a list I can find online?

Thank you for your kind words! I'm really glad that you're enjoying them so far! As for my sources - I'm working using data extracted by the wonderful SydMontague. He first posted them on Neoseeker forums (those posts from way way back then are actually one of reasons that made me start this video series). He compiled them later into an excel sheet that you can access here: [https]://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Wq-H3DCvup8-6p5zg5O8rduj0hZxuOXLKaFmWooQ1mI/edit#gid=2041866928 (remove the brackets, obviously) There's also a handy move learning website made using this data (probably by SydMontague too): []fliegenfuerst.github.io/dw1/moves/ (again, delete brackets). Getting to all of this data after so many years in being in the dark was a wonderful experience.

Guardomon is also capable of transforming Greymon into MetalGreymon (I think Tyrannomon as well) and Angemon into Andromon. Also,Ninjamon will not accept a No. If you refuse,he will say Too Bad and will attack you.
@Hodyna
@Hodyna 8 ай бұрын
Sadly, both are not true. Mamemon is the only Digimon you can remodel. I tried both Greymon and SkullGreymon (and also Megadramon) - with no effect. Remodeling was strictly designed to perform slide digivolution from Mamemon to MetalMamemon/Giromon. Guys who decoded the game and scoured the code (SydMontague and GinoshieGino) confirmed that.

Huh. I was SURE that Ninjamon functions like other Mames and lets you go if you refuse but... you're correct. Thanks for pointing this out.
