@secretninja247

I was wondering that. As it doesn’t have a temp dial you might want one side warm and one hot so if you have food that cooks at various times it all finishes at the same time.
@guymee
@guymee 5 ай бұрын
It’s not actually one side warm and one not The element is just two coiled resistive wires across the length of the griddle So it’s more like cold near you, then hot, then cold in the center, then hot as you get further back, then cold again

@Mister Brookes 230V has nothing to do. You have here electric stuff that works. Is just junk that's why is only $70.00.... Look at Toaster Ovens. They are 120V and if the price is right then they are good.

@Markus0021
@Markus0021 5 жыл бұрын
@Mister Brookes Even if it ran on 230V and 3000 Watts, the griddle would still have uneven heating, there would be no temperature control, and the griddle would not have a flat surface - all of which are major drawbacks in my opinion. Also, kitchens in the US are wired for 20 Amp service, and 20 x 1200 = 2400 Watts max., so it could have been made with a higher wattage. But that isn't the main problem, or even the most significant problem.

The egg grill was open at midnight and morning chow, but actual midnight chow was just leftover dinner chow. Fried egg sandwiches were waay better than leftovers. Maybe I do it wrong, but my bacon and sausage usually DO take longer than my eggs. If it were me, I would cook the bacon/sausage at least half way, then add the eggs. That way, the griddle would be hot enough to keep the eggs from running all over the place and it would also help grease the surface. When I look at something like that, though, I think it is good for a dorm, small apartment, tiny house, RV etc. I wouldn't want to use it as my regular cooking device unless it was just for me and maybe one more person and I didn't feel like turning on the big stove.

I also take it with me when I go on vacay and get to have three squares a day all homemade and easy peasy. I make hamburger steaks and roasted potatoes in the oven while warming some veggies in the coffee pot and frying some apples in butter and cinnamon on the griddle---nummilicious! I also make pizzas, meatballs, mini meatloaves in my silicone cups, au gratin potatoes, twice baked potatoes, and even muffins and croissants in it! It is more versatile than you may think. I have one, and I actually love it. I even prefer warming things up in that little oven rather than the microwave. The coffee pot is perfect for me, because I usually have only one or two cups in a morning. I don't use the griddle much, because I don't do eggs, and I do the bacon in the toaster oven (when not doing it in cast iron). Also, on grilled cheese, I always press my sandwich down, so I was ok with the lid squashing the sandwich. I will also say that I like my nostalgia better for heating up pizza slices than my air fryer. The air fryer does take longer, and at least when reheating slices, the nostalgia throughly heats in less time. (I am trying to move away from the microwave for a lot of my reheating.) While the nostalgia isn't perfect, I have been really happy with it, for my needs.

the eggs go on the other side. the bacon goes by the trough to collect the grease. edit: You're supposed to put the bacon or sausage or whatever at the top of the griddle first, get those started, then when they're mostly cooked, move them down towards the trough and put the egg on the grease-covered top griddle. the eggs wont burn or get cold and the bacon will cook properly.

I think what I personally would do, is not worry about the butter or oil. I would cook the bacon or sausage first, and then I would use the grease from that to cook the eggs afterwards. Chances are it wouldn't take as long to cook the eggs that way because it would already be hot enough. And I would turn on the coffee as I was starting the eggs.

Mine had a pan for the inside oven. It worked good for bacon and eggs. The pot ways dripped. Mine had a setting to use the grill burner as a broiler and/or the bottom burner. So the oven heated up. Better with both going. I upgraded my unit to stainless steel, so I might have received an upgraded model. The coffee is good in this machine. I am happy with my purchase. I bought it for traveling. It will be great for motel rooms. With a proper adapter, I am able to use it plugged into my car. Pays for itself. Mine has a glass lid to put on top grill. That keeps the heat in. So, things cook ok on mine.

That reminds me of this microwave my grandparents got years ago from kenmore, called the Toast N Wave it was literally a microwave with a toaster dunked on its side and molded to the toaster, it worked, like this unit but it was mostly a fine microwave with a slower than usual toaster, but we figured out one thing it had, when you went to use both the microwave and the toaster, both would suffer, the toaster would just take longer and youd have to add more time to whatever you want to nuke, makes sense as with this unit the whole function is limited in the amount of power it has to take, so as you enable all the function it suffers.

I think that once you get used to it it’s a great little unit for small spaces. Maybe the pizza would have been better if you started cooking with the bottom grill for half the time and then switched to the top grill for the rest of the time. As for the eggs and sausage, surely it’s common sense that the sausage would take longer 🤷🏻‍♀️. ❤
