I remember loving this movie as a kid when it first came out. But when I saw it again 10 years later, it definitely wasn’t as good as I remember it; having read Dr. Seuss and watching the original after that AND cringing at the innuendos. However, Jim Carrey’s performance in this was (and still is) awesome!!

Actually the girl that played cindy lou in this movie, she's now in a band the lead singer of "pretty reckless" her name is Taylor Momsen, and I've seen her and her band perform a couple times.

I'm glad Taylor Momsen living a decent life, I just checked up on her, I didn't know she was in Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams, she was the President's Daughter, I never made the connection, she looks so different, 😲

You're not alone Charlie, I enjoy this movie too. It's okay to like both the original cartoon and this one at the same time. Sure, it's a very hammy movie, but that's one of the reasons I enjoy it, it's almost as if the king of ham himself Kenneth Branagh directed this. I like the movie's music which was done by the late James Horner and I also like Faith Hill's cover of his song "Where Are You Christmas?" Jim Carrey always makes me laugh, and in this movie he steals every scene he's in. Even the Nostalgia Critic eventually admitted how he was still able to get many different facial expressions under all that heavy makeup as well as become fully one with the costume due to his great energy, unlike Mike Myers playing The Cat In The Hat.

For all the movie's weirdness, there was a lot I enjoyed about it - Carrey-Grinch's over-the-top cynicism, Cindy Lou Who's expanded role as a kid who felt as much an outcast as the Grinch, and Mayor Maywho being such a despicably manipulative antagonist.

Ive always enjoyed this movie since I was young... I can understand it’s flaws, as the Critic points out, but overall I find it does have a certain charm to it... but tbh I don’t the film would be half as good without Jim Carrey’s performance. He was brilliant as the Grinch 😊

No Charlie, you're not the only one. I actually liked the jim carrey version. Its really hard for me to pick which one the three grinch stole christmas movies to pick. I enjoy the original version because it was done by chuck jones of the looney tunes, I liked the jim carrey version because of its humor and lay back atmosphere. And I liked the Illumination version because of how it's very colorful and it captures the dr seuss feel.

I always HATED this piece of ass fudge. It's as charming as the thought of getting a prostate exam from Andre the Giant, and the worst part was networks getting my hopes up for the original airing, only to show this holiday colonoscopy instead.

Well, charlie, i agree with Nostalgia Critic on the film, i like 1960s animated Grinch film with Boris Karloff as both the film's narrator & the grinch and animated & directed by legendary looney tunes animator Chuck Jones. It's a classic. the Jim Carrey film is not good, but not as bad as mike myers' cat film (i 100% hate that film) i'd much rather watch the jim carrey film than that film. The jim carrey film, to me, is a christmas guilty pleasure. Mostly 'cause i'm a HUGE jim carrey fan. Will it top the boris karloff film? No. But it's a guilty pleasure film to watch.
