They ruined the arbiter figure this time around. If I decide to pick this up, im going to have to spend a fucking week minimum repainting it to look more like the original. Adding paint to represent his death wound is the worst part, and why I'll be forced to repaint instead of leaving it. I don't want to have a dead ripa. The silver isn't bright enough anymore and the black inlaid paint should have been gold, but otherwise I truly don't want to put in that much work just to like a figure I've wanted to own again for 11 years (I had the McFarlane version). Jazwares let me down on the first release of this figure by not distributing it, and this time by ruining the paint on every color they chose. Like what even is that skin tone? He's supposed to be the corpse version of himself he was literally never shown that pale in any cuts energy. I'm so sick of doing toy companies job's for them.

The Hex on the back also applies for the bases as well. All Vault halo has released with these new universal holes. The old weapons and bases are still compatible but require more force to actually get the peg in the socket. Really hoping for that Half-Jaw, Arby 2 pack to release.

Excellent review! Can't wait to get these and detail Ripa with a Molotow Chrome pen. I used the chrome to detail the other Arbiter and it looks fantastic. Forge looks much better. Better decals as well. His face is still pretty bad. Maybe an acrylic wash with would help? The backwards leg on your series five can be fixed with hot water or a hair dryer to heat up the joint and pop the pin out.

Kinda wish the rerelease of Ripa had just kept that black inlay and the original skin tone. The actual armor color is great and definitely better, but the figure was kinda messed up without the inlay paint or the more natural, game-accurate skin.

I've been going back and fourth with myself for a week because the only reason I want this 2 pack is for ripa, just like on the first release. But in this release, ripa looks as bad as forge did in the first release in my opinion. So this 2 pack is essentially useless cuz IF I do get it im going to have to spend a week minimum fixing the arbiter they ruined. The brighter silver looked better, the darker skin looked better, the lack of death wound paint looked better, the only reason I would want this release if for a sculpt. I'd be essentially buying a blank figure and having to repaint the entire thing just to make it worth having. It literally kills me because ripa is the entire reason I got into collecting this line and the one figure I want isn't available ANYWHERE and the only stand in is honestly so bad that I have to essentially do all the work on it myself. I'm gonna fuckin blow my brains out this is so frustrating

@ I don’t understand how you could fix Forge but then make Ripa worse. They didn’t need to change anything about him. I want the Ripa figure obviously but to only have the mediocre version of it sucks. Not to mention, the only other Arbiter figure I have is the active camo Thel Vadam. So it’s not like I’d have a great armor comparison anyway. And I have zero figure customization experience too. So I can’t hide that objectively pointless and stupid death wound because why have the knife wound if this Ripa is supposed to be an “alive” figure and not a “dead” figure? The vault just updated yesterday I think and there’s a new Banished Elite Mercenary figure with the first ever Jazwares Banshee. I might just get that instead

I really hope theyll release Alpha 9 and star with Romeo as we never got to complete it with Mcfarlane. Glad I am able to get these figures now glad it wasnt forgotten.

Put in my order the other day. Sad that the arbiter reissue has such different paint cuz the first edition looks better in my opinion but the forge repaint was NEEDED. I also got the 5 and 6 figure packs, so my collection is about to basically double in size. Im over the moon. I wish i had gotten my hands on a silver Thel but i dont think that ever got good distribution if it ever officially released. Ripa is my favorite design though, even if we get a halo 5 Thel down the line. Little sad he is missing ankles but i understand why, my McFarlane version's ankle shattered as i was taking him out of the packaging back in the day, and was basically useless. But Ripa looks so imposing he has always been my favorite elite for looks. Thel is my favorite for personality, Ship Master half jaw was cool but i always thought he was a little too cold to get into. Thel has a warm and fuzzy side that pops up every once in awhile and it makes him adorable despite being an 8 foot tall alien lizard man

Hey Adam, Great review. Rell me for the dgt. Forge 2 pack, on the Forge figure, are the leg joints tighter? My Forge figure had very loose leg joints I noticed. Did they tighten them up?

Extremely tired of jazwares making color inaccurate, if they were able to apply black inlays to the original release, then they shouldve been able to add gold inlays to the remake, just seems like they already cutting corners

When I do get my hands on the SGT. Forge vs Ripa "Moramee 2 pack, I plan to switch Forge's shotgun with a Marauder's HALO inspired assault rifle and give his shotgun to Spartan Jerome who should've came with a shtogun.

The ripa actual head looks awful to me on the rerelease. The skin color looks so flat and out of place. The swords also just dont look like the belong on either Ripa. Sgt forge just looks awful all around.
