I am no stranger to a call-center environment, so I hope you're able to keep yourself safe (socially distanced, masks, etc). But I'm really happy for you that you've got a job again :)

Me either! My first job in sales/customer service out of school was in a cold call telemarketing firm for commission only, still to this day I think it made me the fast talking thick skinned guy I am 😅 this is a little more laid back and far more “how can I help you” instead of “buy this now!” Environment 😃

Stay safe. Save is a verb. Safe is an adjective. Well, it's also a noun, a place where you'd lock away valuable possessions.

Jacob, I worked for a pink and world famous Telco once in Berlin, in about the same line of job that you are in now. If your company pays you as well as the Pinks payed me, you should be fine. And as to cultural diversity, we were Turkish, Spanish, Italian, South Korean, Chinese, Portuguese and whatever. That's why I prefer English over German: It's so easy to speak and write, and within a multi-national bunch of highly chaotic people, German sure will NOT be the language of your choice.

That's brilliant news, and definitely a foot in the door. Will this allow you to potentially stay indefinitely in Germany, if you so wished? Are you now continuing to learn German through Lingoda or going back to the language school (or was it VHS)?
@PuntingForThePeople3 жыл бұрын
As long as my employment status doesn’t change I can continue to re-new my visa 😁 if they give me a contract which is an unrestricted amount of time I can then make my visa longer, and in most occasions the government makes it seperate from your job and it becomes just a standard residence permit 😁 as for the German learning, I’ll have a mix of class and learning on the job 😁 everyone’s German is so good at work, I’m sure I’ll pick some up both ways 👌🏼😇
@lee_g35633 жыл бұрын
@@PuntingForThePeople I'm guessing you are on a probation period then for the first few months? I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can eventually get a permanent contract, as that would certainly make things easier. Do you get an unbefristete Aufenthaltsgenehmigung after 5 years of residency or is it longer? Most of my daily work is in German, so it's quite amazing how much German you pick up. And don't forget to get Mariann to speak German with you at home, it really helps a lot!

"amazing work environment" and "call center" to me don't fit together. working in a call center is something people do out of desparation, not because they like it. at least that's what I thought... maybe my perspective was too negative? i used to work in a call center myself for a while, and I only did it because I needed the job/money badly. we were also pretty much treated like slaves, stuff like when you go to the bathroom, the time would be subtracted.

Jacob, What a FANTASTIC job!! One of these days, if I can ever move to Germany, I would love to hook up with this company! Anyway, the question that I have is ... What happens to your job once football season begins???
@PuntingForThePeople3 жыл бұрын
Well “if” a season begins “😅” I am currently not working completely full time but they know about my situation and are open to solutions. Eg. More hours in less days, some shift work on non training night ect, hopefully by then I am comfortable in the company and there won’t be any stress 😁
@yankeefred013 жыл бұрын
@@PuntingForThePeople , I have given up on the NFL, & the GFL "had" become MY football league of choice!! If there is no season next year, my stress levels are going to go through the ceiling ... & I am not even one of the players!!! Needless to say, I am really HAPPY that you have found what seems like an amazing & excellent job!!
