The fact that the piano almost says "Steiner" is too appropriate 👌

Quite possibly the best song, from what i consider the greatest scene in the entire series. You're rendition is absolutely stunning. You said in the description that you should play the game again, and to that I absolutely agree. I played it when it first came out, when i was in middle school. I enjoyed it, but every few years I play it again. I've played it 6-7 times at this point, and every time I find myself appreciating it more and more. Its my favorite game, and for me nothing else comes close.

I love the somber tone in this version. The emotion you captured reminded me of when I got to this part for the first time as a 12 y.o. boy and hoped my brothers didn't see me shedding tears 😅 Whether you're playing it "jumpy" or delicately, the final result is consistently a masterpiece. Your uploaded library is like a treasure chest of dazzling, priceless jewels. Therefore, I have continued appreciation for your generosity in sharing your treasure with all of us!

I've always loved how "You're Not Alone" only plays _once_ in the entire game, and it feels different from everything else in the soundtrack. Its entire sequence hits really hard in the feels. You've captured perfectly the essence of the song there, Kara. Thank you so much.

I got tears and chills listening to this one. Absolutely beautiful. The way you opened this song was so melancholic; exactly how I always perceived how Zidane felt at this point in the game. The progression was spot on, with an upbeat middle and climax, once again how I perceived how Zidane felt once his friends encouraged him. And then the tempo changed again, but rather than feeling melancholic, it felt peaceful. Thank you for so aptly performing the music to such an important scene of my favorite FF character!

I can relate to the imposter syndrome cited in your vid description, but IMO instead of "dull" I'd say tranquil and soothing... sometimes I enjoy just seeing someone simply playing a final fantasy song on piano and don't need more, especially when played so well. It brings me warm feelings of my mom playing piano or playing/watching FFIX with family

Lol...there are VERY few youtube channels where I actively get impatient waiting for a new video to post. Kara's is one of them :-). I sometimes feel that FFIX doesn't get enough love. It's a really terrific game. Not QUITE as 'best game of all time' that games it is overshadowed by are, like FFVI, Chrono Trigger, and FFVII. But it's really, really good. I've played it through twice. Might revisit it this winter. The score is excellent. I listen to it all the time. Wonderfully played, as always, Kara. That Dancing Mad video was a TRIUMPH!

This version sounds much sadder, as if someone reminisce the old tragic days. It's pretty since it gives you some nostalgic vibes while the original track from the game feels like that it's made just for this intense and deciding moment. I like both versions for what they are standing since in the end it is the same fantastic track. :) PS: the jumpy version has its own sneaky, trickery charme and was well executed, but I prefer either the original and your new melancholic version more!

I don't remember this song too well from the game, but I still like it nonetheless. Regarding your confession, I see no issue with adding presentation to your videos. If you like the responses you get, then that's not a bad thing in and of itself as long as you are doing something that you want to do. Do something for you and not other people is what I would say, since having inner confidence and drive is better than trying too hard to please others or seek their validation. Attention is fleeting and varies, but inner confidence stays. Being too focused on looks and approval is a shortcut to destroying self esteem and joy, since no one is perfect and not everyone will like us. The inside is what counts more than looks or beauty that are surface deep and eventually fade, since "like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion" and just for being human "you are worth more than many sparrows".
@KaraComparetto2 жыл бұрын
I agree- do what I love and do it well and people will listen :) thank you so much
@1upmushroom132 жыл бұрын
@@KaraComparettoI think that relying on approval for looks or placing happiness on and caring too heavily about one's looks is shallow, potentially immodest, and vain. I see it like standing on shaky ground since looks are fleeting and the inside counts far more. In my opinion, the point of being a performing musician is to draw the listener's attention to the music that is being played and not to the performer. In this way, the listeners get more excited about the music being played than the person playing it so that the love of music is spread. If people are too busy staring at how good looking the musician is or are too distracted by the visuals to listen, they are no longer engaged with the music as they should be. To be riskfully honest, I think the goal of any musician is to ultimately encourage and promote music rather than themselves. If people come to interact and see a good looking musician and/or one who has flashy visuals for the sake of it, I think there will be a bigger chance of them leaving if those things were to go away since the music itself was not as important to their experience from the beginning. Given a choice, I think that an audience and community of music lovers interested in the music and its related ideas is far better than one made of shallow fanboys/fangirls obsessing over the musician constantly. I feel that having too much effort into looks will only encourage that kind of community to form, one that is focused on form and presentation rather than on substance and content. In addition, having a shallow community is not good for the musician, since it will no doubt negativity influence their ego and cause them to become more proud and arrogant since who we are around affects our character. Being tempted by fame and fortune is hard enough, but when other people around you do not have good values, it will rub off on you. "What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?" For the musician themselves, I think music is about self expression and enjoyment over showing off, seeking praise and approval, and chasing fame. Being too flashy and/or robust with presentation will only take away and distract from the purpose and enjoyment of performing in the first place, I think. With that said, not all presentation is bad, such as your Nutcracker visuals. I think those add to the experience since the Nutcracker is a ballet and that in combination with the music helped expose people to the arts in the form of the Nutcracker. As much as it's important to make a living, I feel that doing so while putting the wrong priorities first is not only counterproductive, but not worth it in the end. Going about things with the right priorities in line is what I think will ultimately matter. Regardless, alot of presentation can become cumbersome for the performer, and I would say in my opinion to not let yourself be stressed by it. You're here because you love piano, and what good does it do you to get caught up too heavily in the presentation of it? Don't let worries about looks steal your joy of making and playing music is what I would say. I don't care if you have a simpler look in a video than another one, so there is no pressure from me personally to be fancy. This is because I think the music itself, how it makes us feel, and the community around it are what music is all about. The presentation is just an extra, I think. By focusing on what's most important, I feel that you or anyone will be happier in the long run and as one of your followers, I want to encourage you so that you can become the best and happiest you can be. I can't deny that I have alot of respect for you as a person, Kara, so when all is said and done, I hope you continue to grow and become more successful by doing what you love.

This sounds so calm, strong, and gentle; this performance may not be difficult for you, but it helps show your versatility. Your previous arrangement/performance worked well too, though (and is great music for running through a rampaging tree). Also, this arrangement of Not Alone compiments Melodies of Life well, doesn't it? Perhaps one day you'll naturally end up with an album for each FF. It's great to hear that you want to improve your videos. If it's fun for you, I'd love to see you dress up more or decorate, but please don't turn performance into something you dread (at least, not to the point that the payoff after completion isn't worth it). Even if you can focus enough to avoid any negative impact on your performance, it's probably not worth having a negative impact on your life. You can always improve or play with your video production, but your subscriber count shows that many people enjoy your videos the way they are now, too. I appreciate your modest attire and how you often show your keyboard for much of the performance (though I don't have any mime skill to enable me copy your playing), so there's no rush to step up the vids unless you truly feel it (or need to reach new audiences, perhaps?). Still, you do have a great name for cosplays . . . Kaerith, Kaerra, Karfka? Your hair looks a bit lighter, too, were you thinking of a Beatrix outfit in the near future? (ok, your name might not work so well with that one). We all look forward to seeing what you want to do in the future. It's hard to believe how quickly the years have passed since you released 'to far away times'. Please keep performing what you love and sharing when you like. You have a rather large fanbase now, so there's likely someone with skills to help with whatever you're working on if you ask; you are Not Alone. Also, thanks, Ninjafish! Great work.
