The feather fluff up or popcorn as some call it, is a Cockatoos way of defending itself from a perceived threat. The Cockatoo will flair out it's feathers to make itself as fierce looking as possible to frighten away the threat. If that doesn't work and the Cockatoo really feels threatened, it will hiss at the threat. This is the last warning before the Cockatoo will attack and bite the percieved threat. I even heard a story where a man attacked the owner of a Moluccan Cockatoo. The police were able to identify the attacker by the DNA of his blood found in the Cockatoo's beek. This story shows that Umbrella and Moluccan Cockatoo's can become vicious under the right circumstances and can make very good watch birds and protectors of their flock. Our Umbrella Cockatoo named Angel is very protective of my wife when they go out for a walk.

Chuckle. The fluffy phenomenon is known as " Birdzilla " in our house :D I don't know what it is about plushy toys, but certain ones will cause instant chaos as soon as it gets spotted. Our Umbrella ( Tic-Tac: Age 11 ) will lose it, fly across the house and plow into the stuffed critter in question and commence to removing the stuffing from it. Right after pulling it's eyes off :| Never try to get in the way. Is an easy way to get bit.

I have loved your bird Gotcha. The CC. Are hilarious. You can tell you spend a lot of time with the loved ones in your home. Plus you tell others how to think before they get animals that have special needs. I agree. I. Rescue animals from thean shelters. And after they. Have calmed down and are eating and playing. I find them a forever home. Animals must be kept indoors. And walked daily but we know that part of the application is hard to do. But if they have a great backyard. That often is wonderful. All of us doing are part for our furry friends makes a difference. Thanks for your part Gatcha he knows he is loved.

I don’t like all the restrictions on dogs some shelters have. You want dogs to be kept inside and either on a leash or fenced yard when outside. That is good for city dwellers but I think a dog deserves a better life than that if available. I know you have good intentions but I don’t think a dog should be treated like a prisoner.

Oh just so cute as always. I love the way Gotcha bent down to look in the eyes before he threw Brutus the first time. Also love how he enjoyed the softness of the toy with each foot and THEN threw the toy again. He is such a smart creature. Thanks for the bonus peek at Oliver. What a beautiful baby boy! Very much so. We adopted her 2 and a half years ago. She's extremely camera shy and is bonded to my husband and only tolerates me lol. I've been working on building a stronger relationship with her. We've gotten to the point where she doesn't attack me out of the blue anymore but we've still got a long ways to go ☺️

I can’t stand seeing how many people disliked her video! If those people took the time to watch her channel they would see how much she adores and spoils her birds! They are greatly cared for in every way and she would never do anything that would cause any kind of harm to them. If she thought that this would be detrimental to do to them then she wouldn’t even think of trying this but she knows her birds so she knows this is just a playful tease. Ugh! Our Angel reacts the same way to all my wife's stuffed animals, especially the mechanical animated ones. I have not seen it myself, but my wife tells me Angel will climb up where she keeps the stuffed animals and one by one through them to the floor.
