As others have said, your honesty and transparency about your feelings of being alone are pitch-perfect. Hard to imagine embarking on such a journey knowing you'll be alone nearly all the way. Testing our mettle ... what are men made of?

When these came up a little while ago I was hooked and a couple of years ago I spent all Christmas reading your blog about your journeys , and this time I am hooked all over again... And the little bit I love the most is that your two bikes are there in your house as if in a Museum which is exactly what I would do and probably will as I clock up my own adventures on my GS, please keep up the great work I know I appreciate it and a lot of guys on the forums do, You should make a DVD!!!

Top episode. Great mates, great stop overs. Having done 10 days in Switzerland on my own, I understand a little of what you're going through here. I did Manchester to Lausanne, Lake Geneva, in one go. 23 and a half hours on and off the bike. A few breaks asleep on the floor next to the bike, 900 miles ish in one sitting. The night I got there, I pitched the tent and felt so so depressed I just couldn't work it out. Emotions are so powerful and can be overwhelming at the best of times. I pulled myself together and it was made easier because I was meeting someone I'd met through Facebook later that day. God only knows how long it would have taken me to kick the loneliness if I hadn't been. Fair play to you. Much respect!

I know it's nothing compared to what you have done but I did a 3 day bike/video trip a few years ago and covered 3100kms in that time ..... It was the best 3 days of my life .... Keep up the great work buddy .... New sub here .
