When people cover Not Fade Away, they don't cover the original Buddy Holly song, they cover the Stones' cover. The Stones' cover was made to sound more like Bo Diddley and doesn't sound like the original at all.

Version inspired by Brian Jones. Hard to watch and I really like Tom. This just didn't hit it because the harp was weak.

If you watch the whole concert , they needed a nice little fast pace cover. I think it fitted well in the line up. Think about the context.
