Although there were no polar bears, at least you were able to get some cool photos of those walruses!

When you say 'there's not much to photograph'...I'm freaking out and saying 'turn around'! lol You can always put on your "Thomas Heaton Hat" if you can't find anything. :P

I totally second the use of the term "blob" to describe a group of walrus. It's perfect! 😂

I love that you stopped over in Svalbard. I follow Cecillia (?) on KZbin who lives there in one of the houses along the coast (like those around the 6:00 mark). Her view is amazing!! And watching the videos gives me a sense of peace (its the visionary aspect)😊

Yeah! Our guide showed us which house is hers. It's a pretty epic spot.

I thought your images of the Little Auks were decent. Only you needed more light. Love the walrus shots too. Good luck with the bears...at this point you already know if you captured any or not. Can't wait to see!

I love what you said about the differences between beautiful places and photogenic places. I'm wrapping up a week in Alaska, and so many areas are absolutely stunning but very difficult to photograph since the pictures don't do it justice!

If you are interested in what Svalbard is like year round, whatch Cecilia Blomdahl. She lives in one of those cabins next to the sea. I’ve been watching her for a couple of years. I don’t think I could live on Svalbard, but I do want to visit some day. It is an island of extremes.

I enjoyed the many ways you pronounced Svalbard. This was the best trip ever and the most fun I’ve had photographing wildlife.
