Yael Kahn, is a Jewish Israeli woman who has been campaigning for Palestine for 51 years.
She has been advocating for a free Palestine since 1972 and believes it is her obligation to advocate for Palestinians everywhere, saying “I lived on the land stolen from them, so I have no excuse.’
Since 7 October, and Israel’s ongoing deadly assaults in Gaza, Yael has been regularly demonstrating in solidarity with Palestinians in London, UK, and asserts that global support for Palestine is only increasing.
“They underestimated the power of people and the people were not fooled.”

Believe it or not it hasn't always been like this. My Jewish family lived in Jerusalem/Jaffa for over 150 years. They gathered all their money and left Eastern Europe, bought a compound on Ben Gurion street and rented out rooms & grazing space for their animals. My grandparents went to school with all kinds of kids. My grandparents as chidlren played with the Bedouins, French kids, kids from all over. My grandad helped Arab teens pick olives & when he moved to NY, he took olive oil with him. We all got along. My grandad spoke 5 languages. We are not Zionists. Some of us who didn't leave Israel or came back, don't know the history of our family, but when the Zionists came for me in 1947, I wouldn't go. We have family living there now, but I wouldnt go if I was paid.

This is what true humanity looks like. I watched a more in-depth interview elsewhere on youtube and her story is deeply moving and her moral compass strong. The sheer humanity and compassion of this amazing woman brought me to tears. It takes a beautiful soul to stand so emphatically in support of the side of justice and to wholeheartedly embrace those who've been so terribly wronged. I'm 🇵🇸 and this beautiful spirit brought me to tears. I'm a former w@r cıvılıªn of the 2nd Intıfªdª. As an American, I've lived there during my toddler years and again during my teens. When I tell you that you have to actually live thru it to experience just how insane it is. I know most Isrælis are isolated, and it's not until they visit the other side of the wall and see how we're treated day in & day out that they tend to wake up. Now of course, there's IOF and S3ttl3rs who have to rely on cognitive dissonance & rªcışm to perpetuate the system, but that's bc their livelihoods depend on it. But those citizens who live away from us in a bubble are privileged not to see our reality and many choose not to see it bc they don't see us. So when I observed for the first time the loveliest sight of Isrælis protesting the Apªrtheıd Wall, I felt seen for the first time and felt the first hope that we could co-exist. I felt proud when I read about Isræli anarcho-punks joining the marches of Nabi Saleh and them saying "there's no resıstªnce stronger than this village". I thought wow, we have allies even in the Isræli youth. I felt that at this rate we might actually have a chance at peace within a decade or 2. I was wrong. The govts of each side would squash any sentimentality. Children would dı3 on both sides, and forgiveness would be scarce. We'd have greater casualties on our side, so we'd feel justified in our reşıştªnce. But Isrælis would feel their casualties suffered a more inhumªne loss and so they'd feel justified in continuing to hurt us. THIS CYCLE NEEDS TO BE BROKEN. But those of us who've been aware of this situation who've been involved for a long time, we grew weary, we lost hope. Even Normªn Fınkelşteın nearly gave up on us. So when I see Yael being this beautiful smiling creature who hadn't given up for over 50 years, it reignites that hope. It's been reigniting ever since 0ctºber, when this entire mess had started. The kinship I've developed with strangers who support us and the education I've been gaining about other c0lonial histories, is probably the only silver lining about this travesty. I want Yael to know that her fight hasn't been in vain and that the smiles & hugs she gave were felt through the screen by many of us who've been invisible for so long. You made us feel seen.
