This last line really summed up everything perfectly that since Jiaoqiu completely synergizes with Acheron team and Acheron is already OP on her own, they were very conservative while designing Jiaoqiu's kit. That being said Vulnerability debuff is a rare debuff right now atleast and is a separate multiplier in dmg calculations so in that sense he is quite important I guess.

Interesting info on jiaoqiu! I love the way you graphically present info on complicated topics, making them feel much simpler and easy to wrap your head around. Your video on speed in HSR was by far the best I’ve ever seen in terms of how easy it was to understand. You hit the nail on the head once again, sweetily! Based on other content out there I understood how Jiaoqiu was BiS for Acheron, but was unsure on his value outside of that. I feel like you always bring new insight to characters that I can’t find anywhere else (I watch many of the more well known content creators for Genshin, wuwa, HSR). There are no shortage of guides on yt but many of them feel sterile(?). Lots of numbers and stats but little direct advice/recommendation (no hate on other guide makers I love them!) but I’m always surprised how you seem to know exactly what the player might be curious about and answer them all efficiently! I really enjoy these videos, with the comparisons, because i feel like other reviews of Jiaoqiu will rarely give a definitely 'should you or should you not' evaluation, but something very general and not particularly helpful. but i'm just here for confirmation bias, haha. I don't like Kafka and Black Swan's character designs, so pulling him was partiall for *something* to benefit the PF Dot, on top of everything else he provides. I also think, as more DPS come out, we'll eventually get another ult-heavy DPS. There's always the possibility for future synergy, like how Topaz has popped off.

My impression of Jiaoqiu so far: he has incredible QoL. Although he's not a broken support in terms of multiplier value, he can easily fit into many team comps because of his kit. Unlike some harmony characters that only buffs either attack, crit damage, or little damage bonus, Jiaoqiu just straight away give around 35% or more damage increase with 100% uptime. This way, he can buff literally all dps characters and characters with special kit like blade. Also, in my case I can complete MoC 12 2 cycles less with acheron + jiaoqiu team (compared to pela silverwolf support).

I'm still confilcted if I should pull him, I use Acheron E2S1, Sparkle E0S0, SW or Pela and FU Xuan he would be a 6-10% dmg increase compared to Pela, I really love Acheron and I want her do to as much dmg as possible I try to go for Acheron E6 on her rerun, now that he is out people say he is very good with Acheron, and that's the only thing why he is interesting for me... Sparkle generally, but Robin can make your Follow -up teams really strong if you want to build a followup team, so you can choose based on the other DPses you like to play - hypercarries -> Sparkle, others -> Ruan Mei / Robin.

Generally I highly recommend getting the S1 first, but since we don't know when she will rerun and since Jiaoqiu can be useful on other teams, if you like him and can see yourself using him on other teams I think you can go for him! If you're on the fence, you can wait until the livestream next Friday for some more information about the next Path banners and reruns just in case~

Another interesting thing came to my mind while typing this and got me curious: What do you think about the idea of pulling only for Jiaoqiu’s light cone and putting it on Black Swan? When I read its effects it seemed to me that she could use his light cone to its full potential. Even though I’m currently not planning to do this I was just curious to hear your thoughts on this.

I do enjoy these kinds of character assessment videos, and you did a great job comparing the units fairly. The one thing I'm a little confused by is that you said with Jiaoqiu "you don't have to bring a trend preservation". Isn't that kind of something you would want to do tho? Since it kinda cheats the game into making a less expensive character way more impactful. There aren't really that many strong alternatives for sustain so adding value to that role seems very strong and desirable to me. Doubling Acheron's turns with Sparkle seems like the best route to me, especially if you have Acheron's signature for the extra stacks. I do feel like which support is best for you depends on your relics tho. If you're already stacked on attack but lacking in crit Sparkle is going to outperform Robin, but if your attack is low and crit damage super high the other way is likely true.

Re: Trend -- since Acheron can only gain 1 stack per enemy action, if an enemy takes an action and Jiaoqiu applies a debuff, even if aventurine's Trend procs as well, Acheron will only gain 1 total (though if they take a second action and happens to hit Aventurine, then Acheron can get an extra stack). So the value of Trend goes down, and Gallagher becomes a lot more viable as an option, since you're not losing out too much by not having a Preservation Unit with Trend and Gallagher can also proc extra debuffs for Acheron.

@@SweetilyVT sorry I didn’t express myself clearly. I didn’t mean that you want to have a Trend preservation *with* Jiaoqiu, I know they don’t stack. It was more of a value statement of using a trend preservation versus pulling Jiaoqiu. When you compare Gallagher to a trend preservation you’re basically losing a full unit’s value I mean, since Gallagher only provides one stack per ult. Meanwhile Gepard provides as many stacks as Jiaoqiu does in many situations especially if he can skill spam (Sparkle).

I think in terms of value, Gepard has a high ceiling in terms of debuffs but can be difficult to use these days vs the harder content since he doesn't have any sort of CC res / removal. Gallagher can also have issues sustaining, but he can provide 2 debuff/ult actually (1 ult + 1 enhanced every time), definitely not a go-to solution but nice to have vs the Fire Weaks.

@@SweetilyVT yes I have noticed myself that Gepard tends to get into trouble versus enemies with CC. It’s hard to build effect resistance on him since he really needs a lot of def, spd and ehr, especially before E1. Luckily it’s usually fine if it’s not a multi turn mind control cause he only needs to “wake up” every few cycles to reapply the shield in order to sustain. He also has a cheat death card to use once per battle though at that point you’re really cutting it close. Obviously it’s ideal if he can freeze an enemy every action and not get CC’d though. I can definitely see Gallagher providing some extra stacks versus fire weak enemies, that’s a fair point. Jiaoqiu is also fire so there is some synergy there. I wouldn’t want to feel like the team is reliant on fire weakness to be ideal though, especially when Firefly already exists (and uses Gallagher). That won’t be everyone’s account tho. Thanks for hashing that out with me 😁

You almost convinced me to pull for him but still unsure. I got lucky and have an E2 Acheron with her LC, a E0 Sparkle with Bronya's LC and an E1 Fu Xuan with the 4*( LC that inflicts burns). Usually I slot in Black Swan as the 4th in that team. But currently I'm on 66 pity and have a guaranteed pull but also know Lingsha and Feixiao are probly coming next patch and I REALLY want them. So yeah, dilemma dilemma. I dunno if I should invest even more on my Acheron team or just keep saving for the 2 upcoming ladies.

If you're on the fence and especially if you want both Lingsha AND Feixiao, I recommend waiting until the livestream next Friday to see what they announce for 2.5 Patch. They should release more information about Feixiao + Lingsha as well as any reruns and depending on what they announce, you can make a more informed decision.

Im cooking with him and FF team rn. I dont use my RM, so my team consist of Gallagher, FF, HMC and Jiaoqiu (previously Pela). I use a hybrid build at e0s1 that gets me 167 speed, 220% BE and 150 EHR. Managed to 0 cycle, but I did it with Pela as well, so cant say there is a difference. But its definitely a nice build, and higher personal damage compared to Pela in the same slot.

The upgrade for Acheron S1E2 looks small, he looks hard to build, he needs a lot of ehr and spd, and going for a ehr LC makes him an even smaller upgrade over Pela, not to mention, Gallagher is on FF team, so again, a smaller upgrade if I keep using Aventurine with Acheron because Trend loses value. Im on guaranteed, Im thinking about saving it for Robin and build a FUA team.

E2 Sparkle doesn't feel like a super worth investment currently if you don't particularly care about buffing up your Acheron team, since she's not that great on Break Teams and Follow-up Teams, both of which have been more in the meta lately. Do you already have Ruan Mei and Robin? Jiaoqiu feels like one of those pickups where he might never make a huge difference on your team, but you'll never regret pulling for him. It will come down to if you feel like you want to invest into an all-around Fire Type Support that can deal more toughness dmg vs the harmony supports (bonus points if you also play DoT teams on top of Acheron teams). Maybe you can wait until the 2.5 livestream, see what they announce about upcoming banners and characters, and make a decision then.

@@SweetilyVT Thanks for the reply. With my Acheron E2S1, Pela E6S5, Sparkle E1, Fu Xuan E0S1, team I suspect that I won't notice much difference with jiaoqiu, so what's more worthwhile in the future. I have Ruan Mei, but she is mostly in my 2nd team (E2S1 Firefly). I don't have any D.o.t teams and Kafka is currently not a high priority for me. With Lingsha I already know that I will get her. Waiting sounds like a good idea since the 2.6 characters should also be announced soon.

I'm pulling for him as a Nihility collector and early DoT main, as well as E2 Acheron haver. My one concern about his kit is that it seems to make it impossible to stack crimson knot on a single enemy, or in multiples of 3, because of enemies been debuffed during their actions. This is a damage dropoff for her AoE procs on her ult and feels like an inconvenience, so I wonder if that is intentional as a soft nerf? I'm curious what others think of this mechanic, a dedicated support character that indirectly nerfs the kit of the character he's made to support?

This is a good point and can decrease her dmg potential with Jiaoqiu (Trend also spreads out the stacks). Overall though I would say it's not a big issue most of the time and doesn't actually feel intentional since the extra debuff applications are quite nice, and they would have to word his kit very specifically to optimize around Acheron's Crimson Knot stacking, vs wording his kit to specifically *nerf* Acheron.

Feels like he will be someone to wait his rerun for to see if he gets new groups in the future or not. Atm personally i think hes not worth the pulls just to get Acheron a bit forward, she is strong enough already without him.

@@GenGUNZY I feel like with E6S5 Acheron, assuming you have Sparkle , it will come down to your personal preference since Acheron + Sparkle + Pela + FLEX will generally be overkill. BUT Jiaoqiu could be worth picking up if you want more support options, and you could run a non-sustain team with jiaoqiu / acheron / sparkle / FLEX, it's nice and comfy since your Acheron will be able to ulti more, and she'll do more dmg -- his S1 is also pretty nice and what I recommend > his E1 (since Acheron already has a lot of bonus dmg).

You can't really go wrong with either. Both work on those teams (though Robin might not be as great for Acheron). Compared to Robin I would say his floor is the same but his ceiling is lower. Robin's ceiling can be higher if you optimize around when you use her ultimate for the action forward. You can choose based on who you like more (personality/model wise), or which teams you are interested in building i.e. if you enjoy Follow-up teams more you can go for Robin

question, if i have trend on aventurine and the enemy takes a turn which gets him debuffed by jiaoqiu's ult, then that same enemy attacks my aventurine and trend burns him will acheron get two stacks or one?

Acheron can only gain 1 stack per enemy action. So if an enemy takes an action and Jiaoqiu applies a debuff, even if aventurine's Trend procs as well, Acheron will only gain 1 total. However, if the enemy takes TWO actions and happens to hit Aventurine during the 2nd action, then Acheron can gain 1 more stack.

@@SweetilyVT what is your opinion about e2 acheron + sustain with trends LC + sparkle e2 + pela (pearl lc), do i still need jiaoqui? how about the huge def reduce from e2 sparkle and pela + pearl lc, and how about the diminishing return by using universal trend lc with jiaoqui. im at the dilema of summoning him or not in terms of diminishing return of stacks generation between debuff from jiaoqui vs trends lc and the damage difference between def down (e2sparkle + pela+pearl) vs (e2sprakle + jiaoqiu with or without his LC) thanks in advance sweetily :)

@@vincentpujis8079 If you already have E2 Sparkle, Jiaoqiu will definitely feel like a sidegrade, since E2 Sparkle + Pela can stack a lot of DEF Reduction to really reap the dmg increases at the higher %s of Enemy DEF Reduction. I would generally just bring those two and it should work well vs most enemies. With that said, Star Rail HAS been pushing more of a weakness break meta in general, with enemies either taking reduced dmg before getting broken, or executing annoying attacks. Apocalyptic Shadow, for instance, really benefits from having quicker weakness breaks on the enemies, so Jiaoqiu could still be a nice option to have vs Fire Weak Enemies, where you'll really feel his benefits vs Pela.
