Medical conditions: PCOS. After doing everything right, taking medications, pumping around the clock and seeing dozens of lactation consultants... They finally asked me if I was ever diagnosed with PCOS. Up until that point, I did not know the two were linked. I have to switch to formula soon which I am sad about but I am proud I stuck it out for 6 months.

Interesting. I had trouble producing milk with both my boys. I just didn't make enough milk and tried everything I could. I ended up having to turn to formula both times. I kept nursing, but they just didn't get much out of it.

I just recently decreased in milk supply. I went from pumping about 5 or 6oz per breast to only pumping a half an Ounce on both breast. My milk supply decreased significantly in a matter of 1 day. I believe it’s because I went long periods/hours where I didn’t pump. I wasn’t consistent due to tiredness after recently having my baby. I’m use to my breast being heavy and full of milk. Now it feels like my breast is empty to where it sags as if I been emptying out milk from breast. Is there still hope for my to produce the increase of my milk supply or is it too late? It saddens me to where I’m now determined to not let that happen again. I don’t know what to do. I’m still continuing to pump and stay hydrated hoping that things will somehow turn around for me. Please help

Hi! Keep going. It’s not too late to bring your supply back up. Consistency is key. Also replacing pumping parts according. Engorgement occurs when you wait too long to remove milk. Moreover, your milk supply regulates at around 6-12 weeks postpartum and you’ll experience less engorgement anyways but your breasts are never fully empty.
