We took a full day off to go out with our friends Patrick, Stuart, Jo and Gary. We had a wonderful day, had fun with our friends, saw beautiful things, laughed a lot and even brought home some bargains.

We are Tony and Jane and we are living in and renovating our old Relais De Poste/Coaching Inn.
We live in the middle of France in a region called The Berry.
We have over 40 rooms to renovate so there is plenty of work to be done. We also love to trawl the local Brocantes, flea markets and antique shops for quirky furnishings and furniture.
We love to find out about local history and often visit other peoples buildings including our friends’ Chateaux.

Good morning Jane, I watched your latest video on the big screen and of course I could not write a comment then, it was an excellent video to watch! It really was carefree, forgetting about the projects waiting and just closed the door on it all. It is always nice to meet up with Patrick & Stuart, the brocant had beautiful crockery and ornamental dishes. Jo seems such a carefree person, their chateau is gorgeous, much work has been done. One thing about these chateau's you are not limited for space! just to take your time, within reason, clearing, patching and painting or whatever needs to be done. I find, whatever you do, stays smart, not like in a smallish home where the goods get damaged more quickly. It is a very beautiful day today, the morning thus far is so peaceful and quiet. Hope the neighbourhood will stay like that, at least for the best part of the morning. I noticed the 'early' Christmas tree at Jo's place, time is slipping away so quickly, I also placed some ornamental stuff on the kitchen window shelf, so my son said, it's a bit early isn't it?, but I am enjoying the pleasantness whilst washing dishes as before you know it, it will be Christmas past! So have a gorgeous day. Enjoy whatever needs to be done and we will see you soon. Kind regards, Elize.

The price on the glass are really outrageous. Apparently the seller collects it and doesn’t want anyone to buy it. The antique fair was crazy, I’d stick to brocantes. Still looked like a lovely day out. I’m going to have to come stay with you so you can take me to all the best brocantes . Cheers! P.s. Hi Jane….. I just wanna say… i wasn’t criticising your friend’s beautiful Chateau and their use of knife-rests. Entirely up to them if they choose to use knife-rests, I’ve just never seen them before 🙂 It’s a wonderful looking chateau and obviously they have spent a lot of time decorating it to how they like it, I must say that it looks fabulous. I think I’d be afraid to leave a chair out of place 😬 The grounds looked fantastic as you filmed as you drove through the Gates, it must be like painting the fourth road bridge - once you finish cutting the grass-it already needs cutting again at the beginning, they must have a full time gardener. 🙂

Hi Steve, in France you keep your cutlery when they clear the first course and use it again for the second course!! so there wouldn't be a plate to rest it on xx
