Not Quite a Chateau DIY 249 - Two Chateaux - Chateau De Menetou Salon and Chateau De Quantilly

We visited the chateau at Menetou Salon with our friends Jo and Gary, then it was back to their Chateau for lunch and a bit of exploring.

We are Tony and Jane and we are living in and renovating our old Relais De Poste/Coaching Inn.
We live in the middle of France in a region called The Berry.
We have over 40 rooms to renovate so there is plenty of work to be done. We also love to trawl the local Brocantes, flea markets and antique shops for quirky furnishings and furniture.
We love to find out about local history and often visit other peoples buildings including our friends’ Chateaux.

Beautiful properties and that peacock would no doubt show it's fan of feathers for you Lady Jane :) very rare to have white peacocks I think. I am glad they have put up high fences to keep out predators I think all owners of birds and animals to be alert for them. I like their metal pergola is perfect and bet the food was good. Not a fan of mud me neither actually :) Pretty much an old burner stove I hope they will try and restore it for use. Look forward to part 3 of your restoration of your outbuildings Tony and Jane :)

@ about 6:00 you see a back to back hedge. How did they do that? I've never seen anything like it.

they have secret tunnels underneath where the gardeners pop up and cut the hedges, we asked the question when we were there!
