Our Mother passed away the day before Mother’s Day last year. My two sisters and I were packing up and found an envelope in her desk labeled Adoption Papers. Needless to say we were all wide-eyed. Turns out they were for Cabbage Patch Kids. So there is laughter among the tears (Hugs) Lesley.

Your costumes really are fab, love everybody’s unique take on the theme. Makes for quite the visual effect. Hastings looks splendid in the sunshine - how wonderful to have such a long seafront. Kept thinking of Michael Kitchen from ‘Foyle’s War’, love him.

Hi Lesley, thank Clare please as that was brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope the boot sale went well. Blooming hard going through things, so look after you mental health too. Just back from Butlins, had a brilliant week and never spent a penny extra! Went to the circus, a pantomime, a non funny comedian, who died on stage and some amazing singers and dancers. Very polite and hard working staff. Lots of spoiled kids and an shockingly amazing amount of smokers and vapers. We was amazed by the amount of young parents who smoked or vaped. Bed was comfy, room was clean, kettle and plenty supplies. Would definitely go again. Have a fantabulous weekend and week. xxJane 🐑🌼

I love the drumming. Your group all look fantastic. Soo much effort made. Crikey your seafront is huge 😳. My husband would love the bikes. He usually goes to Western (Western super mare) bike nights through the summer. I hope your boot sale is successful. And you have a good weekend xx

Thanks Pip. I suppose the seafront is quite long - it never seems that way, but I guess it's because it's not much of a natural bay, so it just goes wide. Funny what you get used to/don't think about, isn't it? Thanks and take good care xx

Les, thanks for sharing the drumming event!! I love to hear them. I wish there was once when I am in country. That crowd din’;t give you folks much room! I am grateful that your gal was able to get footage that showed you as we mostly see the others. I thought Jack on the Green was a fall event? Thought it was related to Jack Frost coming and ruining the gardens. It must be really fun to participate in these drum offs.

Hi Susan Glad you enjoyed the drumming - it's very much a Sussex thing, so it's not just about being in the UK. Jack in the Green is about releasing the spirit of summer, rather than Jack Frost. The drum offs are a lot of fun, but you are right - not much room! Look forward to seeing you soon xx

Lived in Milwaukee for a while, Harley Davidson built there and a zillion overly loud scary looking bikers were everywhere.do not miss. Clare did a great job,no drum thing like that in Illinois to my knowledge. Isn't it amazing how precious potable water is? I try really hard not to take it for granted. Tonight they say we may have northern lights down to 49 latitude so may go wandering at 0300. Take care

Hello. Thanks so much. The tradition is largely "some people got drunk and noisy" but I'll try to be more eloquent in a future vlog! I don't know what the trees are,. but my guess is that they are some kind of Yukka. Not an indigenous plant, that's for sure. Thanks and take care xx

Great podcast as always - love the car park! You just reminded me that in a few weeks I have to go to the Isle of Man to babysit my grandchildren whilst my son-in-law comes to Liverpool for an operation. Unfortunately it will be TT week then, so I will see thousands of bikes!

In my part of Canada we have what we call yard sale, as the name implies we set up table all in our private driway and it is usually on Saturday very early till mid afternoon. It's fun but a lot of work but it is well attended.

Yeeees..to be honest I would probably have skipped a "wet one"! Especially these days! Far too old to spend all day squelching around in soggy gear. And it doesn't matter how expensive it is, it finds its way in through the crotch seams everytime 🤣 Ah! Happy days!
