I´ve seen some game consoles China and India sells. They have about 5000 roms, arcade sticks and costs about 100 dollars. Physical games won´t sell in that market when they have this kind of consoles for sale.

Hell yeah, there's tons of PS1 games that are already up there in price with many NES classics like Contra and SMB3. A lot of them are JRPGs, sure, but plenty of common stuff like Crash Bandicoot 1-3 are getting up there in priciness. Why are so many retro collectors so worried about the future, anyway? Live in the now, let the 2100s take care of themselves, at least when your hobbies are concerned.

Right? Even the PS1 JRPG library alone wipes the floor with everything the N64 had going for it. I just stopped listening at that comment. It's one thing to have an opinion but it's another to be blind to facts. Pat should have checked him on that.

+Kool Rad I wouldn't say that. the only thing n64 really has over ps1 is built in 4 controller slots. but ps1 has multitap plus a handful of link-play games which n64 definitely did NOT have ps 1 n64 0

Lol your kidding right? After "duelshock" ps1s own analogue controller came out. EVERY game released had analogue compatibility.

Inserting a disc into a console is part of the experience for gaming over the past 20+ years. For older gamers like ourselves, that includes floppy disks, "PRESS PLAY ON TAPE", and blow into your cartridges. Younger generations are going to live mainly on digital music, movies, and games. They would help move consoles fully to digital around Playstation 6 or 7. This would suck for future generations, for once a company shuts down their servers or closes its doors, their media is lost. This has happened to the movie industry 100+ years ago, and the game industry in the 1980s. Such a shame.

Pat's argument of physical media is kinda weak, mostly saying that 3rd world countries have a different type of market and expecting them to buy physical media, they are different indeed they're not gonna behave as a new meca for physical media, they're gonna go with the prices, and really people who plays there are people with money and internet connections, videogames in some countries are luxury items, steam is more popular than anything in south america, due to cheap prices.
