Oil Change for a 2007 BMW 328i
Replaced the oil, drain plug gasket and the canister oil filter.
It takes 6.75-7 quarts of motor oil.
Then I cut the window regulator of the rear drivers-side window because it was stuck closed and taped it.

You should replace the oil filter first. So the oil in the oil filter housing goes down to the oil pan.

Took me an hours of internet searching to figure it out: See there is a cut-out in the under tray? That is the front lifting point so you can then place jack stands on the rubber grommets along the sill. Also, later models have openings at the under tray allow you to drain the oil without taking the under tray off.

I own a couple of Bimmers , the 3.0 liters uses 6.9 qts with the filter , something else , not need to replace the splash shield, it has an access lid next to the oil drain plug !

Hi Ralph, thanks for watching. The reason why i removed the splash shield is to wipe off all the oil that run down the oil pan. I know this is going to happen already by only lifting one side. I have done this before with a lift at a dealership as a used car tech. Yes, I know there is access to the drain plug. Thanks for the comment.

To ensure complete draining of engine oil, we lift the car from the left side, not the right side...

Only advice for people of you can afford it use the factory oil filter, the o-ring on those aftermarket ones get brittle super quick and cause leaks around the filter cap.

Yes It's just rotating that plastic thing to get the part to open below the drain bolt. You could see it.
