Not sure if it will work, but have to try! (Camper before & afters)

Today we want to show you the before & afters of our camper exterior makeover-- it literally looks like a new camper! We removed some of the old, faded graphics, painted some that we left AND added some new ones too...the kids say that the transformation was "satisfying" ;) and I'm THRILLED with how it turned out (even if it took FOREVER!).

👋You're so funny Dawn you remind me of myself when I wanted to get something done I'd pull out the stuff and start it especially painting and my husband would grab the paintbrush because I always had more paint on me and the floor then I had on the walls lol. It turned out great. My husband races dirt track. One of the most challenging days of our marriage was when we decided to put the graphics on his car ourselves. Let’s just say, we always pay to have that done now. 😁

Fixing the outside is NOT silly at all! Those decals were awful and you guys transformed it to where it matches the inside. Now every time you look at it, you'll have a smile on your face instead of cringing. I hadn't seen the inside, which is SO SO SO cute!! 💙

Plus the exterior is the first impression so fixing it is a must for selling it at a price that is fair & optimal for all involved. Wow that had to have had its trying moments tho... . I love the idea of buying an old camper and fixing it up! My husband collects vintage campers and is very knowledgeable about the history of camper manufacturing in te US, so I’d love to see what you would find. The only thing is, I really like to see them restored more than glammed up. A she shed sounds really fun. My daughter has a container that her husband fixed up for her sewing studio. "That's just what we do..." Yep, us to...31 years this month, and counting! MANY marriage challenges along the way...but we work well together when we have a common project 😊 7+ moves in the first 7 years + 4 kids (our twin boys were first, now 29); 7 more in the last 2 decades. Several home rehabs. We thought of it as a great adventure... unfortunately, our kids did not always 😬 (Our 26 yr old daughter longs to buy her first, and FOREVER home! But can't afford in this economy, esp in CA🙄) And we've been through many more vehicles than homes (hubby does/enjoys the mechanics, when time allows). Very few that were NOT projects, or less than 10 yrs old. Started a school bus to RV conversion; only got as far as removing most of the seats, then it became a storage 'shed'--until diesel price dropped again so we could sell it. With age/wisdom, we're learning to limit the # of projects at a time: kudos on getting a non-project RV next! (But a she-shed does sound like fun😉)

Yes on the she shed! I spent the Friday and Saturday before Mother’s Day at a tiny house hotel and it was so awesome. My husband and I are lamenting that we don’t have the space to make over a little trailer or a tiny house for our (VERY) tiny backyard. But we could sure buy one that someone else did up!

You two did a great job on the camper you're selling. Re: the camper turned she-shed: In my opinion a regular shed/smallish building would look a lot better on most properties than an old camper made into a she-shed. Many communities wouldn't even allow it. I suggest watching and enjoying the video renovation and passing on the DIY.

Even if it was rolled smoothly, depending on how long it stays rolled up and how tight, it will buckle. Here at my shop that's why we roll loosely, use a larger box and put a sticker that says unroll vinyl upon receiving. Also, sounds like it was different non air release vinyl from the swoosh graphics you got the second time. The mountain graphic might have been made with a permanent vinyl that required a wet application. Even so, it still looks good, a great improvement over what was there 🙂

Great job to you both! I actually prefer Dawn’s choice of blue paint. It’s not a loud color and flows better with the inside renovation. I also agree that making the exterior look nice will make it much more attractive to a buyer and therefore, more sellable at a better price where you could be compensated for all your hard work. Example of how an exterior can make a difference. We recently rented an Airbnb. Arrived at the location and wondered if we had arrived at a house where horror movies were filmed. The paint was chipping, the once beautiful, ornate wrought iron fence was rusty, bent in different directions, and missing pieces. There was a side door with a broken storm window and so on. Fortunately, the inside was quite the opposite. Sure, it wasn’t perfect. But it was an old house with lots of character and was beautifully taken care of. There were many special touches thoughtfully laid out. Imagine if the outside were the same. What a pleasure it would be to make repeat visits. But if we were to plan a gathering with friends and family, that would not be our first choice. Says lots about you both for taking pride in what you do and for wanting to make sure everything is as good and even better for someone else. I would trust to buy from you. I’m sure many others feel the same. And that is very special.
