I was kicking around in London Fields too Rich - watching the same cricket match and waiting to start the ride. We could have watched each others bikes if we'd known! Pity I didn't know to look out for you. My rear hub broke at 100km so had a miserable, clunky trudge for the last 80km but did finish.

You're pretty hard on yourself Richard. You know that right?? I'm umming and arrring about a piddling 100 mile and camp over the weekend, while you're banging out the BIG miles week in week out. Mind you TWO cans of Pringles....😱 LOL

I know right two cans... I've been eating better this week, a little. I think, I know you are right, but I can see I've put a little weight on around the belly which frustrates me a little.

@@BikepackingAdventures I've said it before... a round belly is more aero 😃 But yeah my problem too... 5kg over what I was last summer and that was still 5kg more than I was in my 30s.... inevitably?? Practical solution? Bags of mixed salad instead of crisps. Shake in a bit of your favourite salad dressing and munch all day. Full of all those canny vitamins and fibre.... lots of fibre 😄

Richard, re cameras, do you have any recommendations for "safety cameras" eg bullet cameras / rear cameras. The "action cameras" eg GoPro and DJI don't have enough battery for the whole ride at the higher resolutions unless using an external power bank I suppose? I ideally want one that has a replaceable battery.

Sorry I don't have any first hand experience, but Chilli Tech is a name I keep seeing often, I'd go check them out.

Good idea! I just grabbed the bike quickly, switched over the bags and got in my van and went - it was all last minute. =)
