Man, I absolutely agree with your #1! Freshbeards butter is where it's at. The 1920 scent is possibly my favorite scent of any company. It is amazing!

I personally think luxurious has the best barber shop I like this butter as well. Just wish it has a stronger barber shop kinda weak feels good. I consider whipped a butter, just like we have whipped butters for our food haha. My favorite butters no order.. Luxurious bastard, fresh beard, beard octane, Detroit beard Co, and beard justice. I miss want to try black rebel

Just got a subscriber. I'm a little more than 2 months into my beard. Not as epic as yours, but the ladies love it. So far I've only used Duke Cannon's beard products, but i do wanna branch out. That cigar vanilla sounds right up my alley because i like Duke Cannon's Leaf and Leather cologne and soap

All good, man. Definitely understand having to shave for the mask. I did finally branch out and i got the Vanilla Cigar from Grave Before Shave. I like the scent, but didnt get a tobacco smell from it. My favorite brand so far is Badass Beard Company. Also just got a butter from Fable and it's excellent.

Leo, Thanks for watching and subscribing. That's a great question. The Live Bearded and Fresh Beards are somewhat similar, but the Fresh Beards, to me, seems to have a bit more conditioning than the Live Bearded. They have similar consistencies, but I find the Live Bearded to be a bit more on the balm side than the butter side. I think the Fresh Beards probably has a bit more shea butter in the mix. While the ingredients are the same, and in the same order, we don't know the ratios. Also, I know this is very subjective, but Fresh Beards has the superior scent profiles for my tastes. Don't get me wrong, I think both are top notch. I tend to use the Live Bearded butter as a balm (they sell only butter and oil so I think they made it as an all-in-one, and they've nailed it). That's a long-winded way of saying Live Bearded holds a bit better while Fresh Beards conditions a bit better.

I’m personally not fan of wax balms. But I love the “butters” or the “butter balms”. You know my favorite without even mention of name here...I prefer the neutral scent balms or butters because I like my scent from the oils themselves alone and just the “hold” from the butter/balm without a scent.

I'm excited to try the butters from Fresh Beards. I purchased 3 sampler packs so I can preview every scent (4 scents in each pack), except for "dark roast". I'm not interested in smelling like coffee. And since their "Cupid" and "Shamrock" scents are on clearance, I ordered those butters. For all I know, the reason they've been discontinued is because people don't like them, but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

@@MichaelPhelpsMedia The Dark Roast is actually the only scent I won't be trying, if I remember correctly. I ordered 3 samples, each with 4 scents, but I think they have 13 scents. I love the smell of coffee but I don't think I'll want my beard smelling like it! So far, I have 8 samples. Lots of great things there, but only a few I'd want to wear. Tomorrow I'll receive my final sample pack and then I can finally decide which butters I want to buy.

@@MichaelPhelpsMedia If you haven't pulled the trigger on the Shamrock yet, I just wanted to say that I got it today and it's exactly as described. A Very strong smell of beer. And I mean STRONG. I only smelled it from the jar and also rubbed some into my palms. I'm not a fan of it. And I say that as someone who absolutely loves a super hoppy, high-IBU IPA! Of course it's all subjective. Maybe some people love it. It is discounted and you might like to have it for the novelty of it, but wearing this would smell like you've spilled beer all over yourself and I personally can't imagine anyone finding that pleasing on me and I wouldn't like it on myself. I also received Cupid today. Not sure if you have tried that. It's much less potent. It's definitely sweet, but I wouldn't say it's super chocolatey. Just a bit. I'd choose this over the Shamrock every day, but really I probably wouldn't ever wear it either. I just ordered these because they're limited, discounted and I wanted to feel the consistency of these butters. I do like how smooth it is. I got my final fragrance sampler today, so now I can start ordering some butters I like. By the way, if you haven't tried Detroit Grooming Company, they offer a pretty generous butter sampler pack. Of the 6 they include, there is at least 1 winner for me.

How long does the scent last on the teakwood GBS butter? I’m trying to decide between beard octane citrafella and gbs teakwood I want a scent that will last most of the day

Dalton: I've not tried the teakwood scent. That said, the GBS vanilla cigar scent butter will last all day and is fairly strong for the first 4-6 hours. The Beard Octane scent will be a bit more subtle. You'll still get hints of the Citrafella all day, just not as strong as the GBS.
