Saw him on stage last month and it was phenomenal! I really like how he puts so much desperation into this song; contrary to how a lot of people see it out of context, it’s not a comforting number. It’s suspense and horror. Toby has previously been abused by Pirelli and sings it to Mrs. Lovett because he recognizes the same traits in Todd, but of course, Mrs. Lovett doesn’t listen- nor does she care about Toby in the same way he cares about her. When done right, as it is here, it builds up so much dramatic tension!

That's what i thought of straight away too! His voice is very similar to the disney Quasimodo, and judging from this clip he has all the right emotions to put into the hunchback songs. You can hear some of the auto tune sharpening the changing of some notes, but he is still an absolutely outstanding singer. In this case, the autotine is only helping make more impressive note changes, but the rest is entirely him. Absolutely breathtaking.

The amount of control that he has for a KID is absolutely amazing. Once I saw him in Les Miz I knew that this kid would be a huge star. Years later, he was in a hit show as one of the main characters, many movies, has his own show (prank encounters) and has been on broadway multiple times. Wow.

Gaten Matarazzo really has an incredibly versatile voice. I already predicted it when he sang the beautiful Never Ending Story!! We saw his final performance yesterday and he was tremendous. My daughter got a picture and autograph as a huge Stranger Things fan. We also saw two of his high school performances and he’s been amazing every time. Pinelands Regional HS truly puts out incredibly talented thespians.
