We (Jamaican Caves Organisation) use GMRS radios here in Jamaica for communicating from top to bottom of deep shafts (>100m). The wavelength is short enough that it bounces off the walls, even around corners, giving pretty good range. When we bought them, we just had to pay a fairly small amount for a permit. No mention of call signs, but as we've never heard anyone else on frequency on the surface, doesn't make much difference.

This was awesome! Thank you! While I am studying for my Ham license, and have already received my GMRS license. I think I definitely naturally fit in to your cool kid group! Sure do appreciate your wit!

If we say "69", do we also say "over and under" instead of "over and out"?

I applied for my GMRS License March 30th still have not gotten it. Was 70.00 a few days ago. Apparently they are having billing issues with their system so I'm being patient. I'm a new cool kid. I bought Midland 2 way for camping, in a week I will be buying the GMRS radio. Excited! Still studying for Technician license.

I guess. But $3.50 a year isn’t exactly riches. I don’t see a reason other than to just know who you are. Which is a different problem.

Ya... The money doesn't bother me. The FCC having more info about me definitely pisses me off

I think the reason GMRS is taking off is because of your videos. Best on the net. Thank you.

Great videos brother! After having now watched 5-6 of your videos I have purchased the BTECH GMRS-Pro 5W radio, and today I registered for and paid the $30 for a license! Looking forward to getting the radio in 5 weeks (backordered) and learning the hobby! Stay frosty!

@IvanRivera. Did the same thing. Ordered the Btech GMRS PROas well. 5 weeks can’t get here soon enough. Got license already. Patiently waiting. Hopefully SHTF won’t happen too soon…….but it sure looks inevitable.

First time coming across your channel! I'm not even halfway into the video and I already have a deep appreciation for your very subtle and dry humor. 😆

This man is incredible. I must say at my age 66 I have to study a long time to pass my Ham Radio operators license. I got the GMRS license. I purchased Ham Radio's and spent money. I need your input.
