I just received my KG-935G and while I'm waiting on the battery to charge I thought I would express my appreciation to Randy for this wild adventure that he has taken me on. Several weeks ago I was considering dusting off the old CB radio and putting it back in service. While looking through some KZbin videos Randy's face popped up with the subject matter of GMRS radio. After viewing the first one, 'What is GMRS?", I started binge watching more and more of his videos. Needless to say I was captivated. Up until that point I had never heard of GMRS, FRS, or MURS. I knew I was going to like Randy after watching his no nonsense approach to teaching and resistance for "complicated things". That along with a healthy dose of trolling sad hams had me hooked. So Randy, here's to you for your unique style and humor. You've created a new GMRS fan. I hope my meager contribution to your channel helps to keep you in business for years to come. Your efforts are appreciated. And now that the green light has come on the charger, I gotta go 😁😎😄

Love the content - Not that you care, LOL.. but one of the things I would like to see when reviews are done is how fast these radios scan through their memory channels. Maybe it's just me, but I see very few reviews by You Tube creators shows or demonstrates the "scan rate", and haven't seen this information in any manuals. Maybe if you still have a bunch of these radios, you can compare some of them in a single video... just my unsolicited input, I don't know if anyone else is interested in this information. Keep up the entertaining videos....

If this radio is part 95 FCC type acceptance for GMRS. Wouxun could have added the 5 MURS channels on VHF to operate under part 95. The radio hardware is capable of both VHF/UHF operations. Software limits the transmitter to only operate on the 30 GMRS/FRS channels.

When I first saw this, I was mad. I have four KG-905's already and thought, "just my luck". They come out with a better radio and now I wish I had waited. While this is a neat looking radio, has listening capabilities beyond what my 905's will do, etc, in retrospect I believe I already have the best radios (for me at least). While the 935 has a neat color screen, receives VHF, decodes inversion scrambling, and more, I like that my 905 has a super heterodyne reciever which the 935 does not. This should give me better, less noisy, reception. Overall, I really like my 905's in that they are great for GMRS two-way comms. I don't really want or need the extra receive capabilities of the 935. There are only three negatives with the 905 that I wish they would change. Those include not being able to adjust the display light intensity, which is blinding at night in a vehicle, tone scan only scans a few seconds before turning off, and the volume could be louder, but as was explained to me by BTWR staff, the waterproofing reduces the receive audio. None are deal killers for me, just places where improvement could be made. I do want to purchase the longer antenna found on the 935 for my 905's.

@grigorirasputin50203 жыл бұрын
I have the 905 and am happy with it. Superhet receiver on the 905 vs direct conversion on the 935 will make for a less noisy receiver on the 905. If there are things of great importance to you on VHF or FM broadcast, you might prefer the 935.

I have the wouxun kg905g gmrs ht My question because I am a newbie and not ashamed you have to start somewhere so I will hold my head up as in everybody started somewhere like the bottom and work up of course and I'm one of them, thank you! I'm just hoping that someone in Boston Massachusetts is listening here to help me get in touch to where I can take classes and learn this with Hands-On experience I'm actually pleading for help and not ashamed as I said. No car, but public transportation is excellent here. And I live in the south end so that gives you an idea for someone that knows the area I really appreciate it and I will be waiting patiently for someone's reply! Oh one major factor, I am licensed wrqy 733, again I thank you in advance!!

For a newby like me looking at a gmrs radio for SHTF and to use out fishing/hunting the national forest, what is your recommendation between the Wouxun KG935G and the KGUV9 Pro? I’m not real computer savvy so I like the pre programmed idea but can work through that if needed. What are the other big differences in the two radios? Thanks RD

I might be inclined to get this if I weren't one of three people in my entire county to have a GMRS license

Same here, but I have four KG-905's. Go on and get one anyway. You'll be the first in your county to have this snazzy radio with the cool screen.

Well, I asked about this radio in another video and was rewarded with this video so let's try it again to prove that I am your favorite viewer. Are you going to review the Wouxun KG XS20G?

Also I did not know Pepe allow scrambling the channel but my question is do they allow it on a gmr's repeater or simplex?????

This radio does not use a superhet circuit, rather a DC type. Your thoughts on whether this is an upgrade or a cost savings thing. Due to cost, would probably be the sole purchase in my lifetime. Thank you.
