I've been thinking about starting my own series of playing golf and recording just to see my progression. Currently an honest 24 handicap with plenty of "tidy up putts" that I just miss all too often increasing my scores through 18 on average by 10 or more. Double bogeys on par 3's and 4's and bogeys on 5's. My worst handicap is my OB drops as well. I had 3 drops in my previous 101 score and those will hurt you if you're already struggling to turn birdie putts into pars. Thanks for the take I know that my golf game could improve drastically if it were as easy as making the shots more consistently. Love the game for the constant change in environment and play factors. Bad lie, bunker shot, rough iron shots from behind trees.

I think an underrated item here is that while you don't need to roll in everything from 8 to 15 feet, you DO need to make a couple of them through your round. That's the 25-50% make range. You gotta grab a couple of those to turn an 82 into a 79.
@jordanbrorby84948 ай бұрын
Love to see it. I’ve gotten 80 at my local several times, even shot an 81 today! But I can never seem to break 80! Watching this video just reaffirms how important the short game is, which does not bode well for me!
@AB-tn3jd8 ай бұрын
Same here. Just can't seem to break 80 legit. 80 is my best. It seems to always be the one or two blow up holes that screw up a round. I like to think of pars as birdies for me.

@@AB-tn3jd agreed! I’ll seriously be even through 7 holes and then get a triple bogey and double bogey on back to back holes.

I am a subscriber and I like your content, filled with good information. How do you feel about pace of play? I play a lot of Tournament Golf and Casual Golf and I have noticed that Pace of Play has slower to a crawl. Have you ever considered a video on how to maintain pace of play, when a Golfer is a slower analytical type Golfer?
@TheWiryWoodchuck10 ай бұрын
it isn't the pace of play that has slowed so much as it is the golf courses cramming tee times close together and over packing the course in the name of profits after 2 years of shut downs.
@realflaman10 ай бұрын
@@TheWiryWoodchuck so the amateurs walking all around the Green on a 5 foot putt, waiting until it's their turn to start the evaluation process, not playing ready golf, taking 30 practice swings then standing behind the ball and starting the process all over again. Many amateurs copy the Pro behavior. Rounds were once less than 4 hrs, now 20 handicappers want to go to the Tips, crazy
@NotAScratchGolfer10 ай бұрын
I like this idea! I really think golf ought to have only two rules: 1) Respect the course; 2) Maintain pace. Playing ready golf and having a reasonable pre-shot routine are the main keys, I think. I don't know if I'll dedicate a video to this, but I'll talk more about it in upcoming vids.
@TheWiryWoodchuck10 ай бұрын
I agree@@realflaman . but the courses are also stacking way more tee times than before as well. it is a bad combo all around. but the courses need to be held accountable just as much as the players.

As a beginner...Ive played 3 rounds of golf so far and got 2 par so far. This is how I see golf: Mistakes = over par No mistakes = Par Having 1 really good drive= potential birdie My mistakes are not knowing what club to use.. I will be going to golf sim this weekend to see my ranges... My last par was last weekend.. I outdrove my friend to the stick in the middle (150yrds out from hole) and we both hit the green with our irons, could of had a birdie if my first putt from 25+ feet when in. It was a par 4.

I don’t keep score when I play. If I get a bogey or better, I’ll know it. Anything else I’m not too concerned with. I will say, a lot of joy from my rounds comes from playing those insane low percentage shots. You will pull off maybe 2 out of every 10 you try, but it’s all worth it when you really surprise yourself with a shot you have no business hitting. I’d rather play like a madman and shoot a 90 than play it safe and shoot an 80.
