This is golf in the real world! A somewhat less than pristine course and some shots almost as dodgy as I hit. Good stuff. My long game is grim, but according to my shotscope, my short game is scratch level, so I just try to get inside 100 yards in as few shots as possible, then get down in 3 or less. Currently have an average of 2.6

Long time fan, man and I appreciate you more and more. So many other guys on YT act like they should never miss a fairway or green and be 100% from 8 ft and act like babies when they don’t. I just want to see cool dudes play courses I never will get and enjoy themselves and you crush it there.
@evanbenjamin970511 ай бұрын
I agree... it is annoying when other youtubers hit it on the green and complain... they are 30 feet and act like they are the worst player in the world... Its a little obnoxious actually as it just makes my golf game feel like I have no chance.

currently on the same hcp as you, with the same goal as well! i’m sure it’s just a couple of bad decisions and poor mental game here and there that make all the difference, as that results in smarter, better shots and the proper attitude when things dont go to plan. good luck :)

Truly have me reconsidering my game. Great inspiration and appreciate the narrative on your thought process. I always say to myself and to my friends that we'll do better today and we blow up the scores. If we can have your mental strength we can. Great job and keep it up! Always good to see how you navigate around, keeping the ball in play is the golden rule lol. My course is parkland and any slight deviation is a kick out from under the pines. Would love an open course like this you shared today.
@stephenharris804111 ай бұрын
Adam, you play so many different courses in so many conditions - and I'm sure that makes you a better player overall, and enjoy golf more. I can't help wonder what your handicap would be if you played the same course a couple of times a week. I'd guess closer to scratch than your channel name would suggest!

Hi Adam! Big fan of your videos. You're really good in creating an understanding of the mental aspect of the game and that you should never give up on a hole. When you say walk the putt what are you thinking about when you do that? Just getting a feel for the distance and break?
@NotAScratchGolfer11 ай бұрын
Distance more than break, yes. I just find that standing behind the ball looking down a runway to the hole doesn't give me a good sense of the tru length of the putt. Walking it out helps a lot.
@victortorres42911 ай бұрын
Been doing that because of Adam! I walk out my putts as well.. every long stride roughly 3 feet, so 10 strides I know I have a 30 foot putt and I can dial in my distance control

Which track do you prefer at Pred, Adam? I keep telling myself that I like the Ridge 18 more....though I routinely score better on Predator. Also, if you're feeling great, on 15, tee it up high and go driver. The straight line would be pretty much directly over the last tree in the row (to the left of the gap and lone tree in the top right of your screen at 11:22 on your vid). There's not much trouble if a little short, but must avoid a flare to the right. Fun stuff!
@NotAScratchGolfer11 ай бұрын
I’ve played the Ridge 9 times and the Predator only twice, both times in inclement weather. I find the Predator to be a better test of golf and the Ridge to be far more visually stunning albeit more resort-style golf. So my preference would come down to which type of golf I was in the mood for that day. And thanks for the course knowledge re: 15!

I had the best 9 of my life last week, hit a 38 with back-to-back birdies. I was following your advice of keeping the ball in play and hitting smart shots. Then, I had a bad OB shot on hole 10 and completely threw off my mental game and finished the back 9 with a 53. I know you have bad holes, but what advice or thoughts do you have to completely shake it off and reset for the next hole(s)? Love the videos
@NotAScratchGolfer11 ай бұрын
Thanks! And first off, congrats on the Front 9 score! I’d try to remember that your 18-hole golf score is something you can’t control on a shot by shot basis. All you can do is try to hit the next shot as best as you can. You can go 53-38 or 38-53…or even 38-38! If you never think farther than the next shot, your scores will probably stabilize and those crazy volatile front vs back 9 scores will happen less frequently. Buuuuut…they’ll still happen sometimes! Don’t beat yourself up.

adam I think the thing I notice with your swing is you're reaching so far over, that the lie angle of the club head is almost 45 degrees. I may not be a good golfer due to just bad golf strategy, but I think if you step closer to the ball, and have the ball further forward you'll get a more upright swing with hitting at the apex of swing
