This album came in 1988 April and I bought the original cassette as soon as it hit the shelves. I don't remember how many times I have listened to the tracks. My favorite was the third one, Song of Soul. I bet if anyone has sleeping issues, can play the "Song of Soul" track in mild volume & turn off the lights, will go to sleep within 20 seconds......

But here, only films sell. Only filmi music is listened to by the masses. I fell in love with both the albums after listening to them once/twice. But 99% my friends did not like them even though they were big time fans of the Maestro. Really hardcore fans. Some of them remarked too --"why is he wasting energy like this?" Voice-less, Tamil-less music is life-less music!!. Well, so Ilayaraja had to be in films to gain attention, praise and thus contentment. If you think about it, everywhere it is the same, right? How much of classical music people listen to, how many people listen to, how many paino, cello, violin or flute concerts happen compared to the disco, rock, (c)rap etc?? Beethoven, Mozart and a whole lot of geniuses had to live on loans, alms and die in penury.
