i live in their ecosystem as well but I dont really see how much different the phone 1 is from the phone 2... its the same phone but with an led bar for notifs in the back and a slightly better sensor for the cameras. atleast apple has products that are easy to use. Sure they lok samey but tbh why fix something when it isnt broke. I dont like nothing's weird phone designs but I like their Ears 1 and 2 because they look different but also nice. The nothing phones just look terrible. Idk why we give a pass to smaller companies when they are essentially following the same trajectory as large tech companies like apple. both should do different things, but giving nothing a pass for doing what apple does in terms of the samey designs for their products is just laughable.

Honestly, the depth camera from iPhone is the key factor in some of the professionals buying them. It's one of its kind, and none other than iPhone had them. @@LevenZ69 the depth camera that i mentioned was something called LiDAR sensor, which enables them to accurately map out the depth of the picture well and allows you to crop out the person in the picture very well, its also how they managed to do their portrait shots that well because they can separate the background and the person in focus very well. This technology also allows one to map out their surrounding in real time to get a 3D mapping info. This is very important for professionals in some of the industry that required quick scan of the environment to get a rough idea of the space they're in. So far, only iPhone have this tech, and its a shame to see none of the other phone companies are not willing or unable to invest in this tech to compete due to lack of resources

He actually explained why radical changes to the design of the phone (especially for a new brand) is a bad idea in a video recently. It's because you need to establish a "brand identity" and general aesthetic that makes your company/product easy to identify. But the boring-ness isn't just the aesthetics with apple. It's their lack of innovation with software and features. They don't do much. Just slightly better here, slightly better there... no major improvements and they barely listen to feedback

I already pointed out that his reasoning makes perfect sense. But the need to establish brand identity is true of any company. If Apple changes their design language every year, there wouldn't be an "iconic" iPhone design. I just feel like Carl hasn't thought this through completely because Nothing may be able to surprise customers with their first release, but every iteration thereafter will feature the same small changes that we see from every phone company. They can't afford to come out with something fresh every single time. And if that's not possible due to budget constraints, why even make that the core tenant of your company? @@lordmango6060

Everyone talks about hardware but software is untouchable with iOS. Until anybody comes out with something different than Android and iOS, Apple will be king of software. @michaelcorcoran8768
@michaelcorcoran8768 Жыл бұрын
iOS 17 isn't even eligible for the iPhone X. So it really only goes back like 5 years, which is not good at all. And Google Play service updates still work going all the way back to Android 5. Apple / iOS used to have the advantage with OS updates but Android has always had the advantage with app updates. Now Apple doesn't even have that advantage anymore as Samsung, OnePlus, xiaomi, Google have all increased their promise to 5 years. But again once iOS loses its last upgrade, it'll never get any app updates ever again. It's not true with Android. So like a Note 8 or pixel is way more modern than an iPhone 7 even though they came out the same year. The iPhone 7 will never get app updates ever again, but those Android phones will get Google Play service updates basically in perpetuity

I was hoping Carl would talk about Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 Remake and games like that coming natively to iPhone. It's understandable though, nothing can beat that and it was very random but I'm looking forward to future of mobile gaming. I think Apple wanted to take on devices like Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch without really creating a console themselves. A chips having that much power is crazy, makes me think what they can do with the M chips.

But the price you will have to pay for the iPhone and fewer AAA titles is huge...the best way to play AAA games are through Monitors with PC or console...but if u still want to play on small screen then Steam Deck is a better option for gaming in term of Games availability of both old and new games and Steam support...
@OverdosedCaffeine
@OverdosedCaffeine Жыл бұрын
@@niteshkumardutt I didn't have much information to go by a few days ago but I completely agree with you after watching some videos, even though A17 Pro is credible for mobile gaming since it also has ray tracing, it is somewhat underwhelming compared to the likes of steam deck which some people already trash talk due to competition from Rog Ally but even Steam Deck is performing superior than A17 Pro. Price is also a good point, it isn't worth it. But I can see potentially some people who don't own a gaming pc or a pc at all to adapt to this gaming format where they only rely on their iphone instead of a console/pc.

You should do a comparison between nothing phone 2 and Poco f5 pro , Almost same specs but f5 pro has better display ,bigger battery ,charges faster and has higher touch sample rate. Nothing phone 2 has better build it seems and my guess is that the os is cleaner. BUT nothing phone 2 costs almost 200 dollars more than Poco f5 pro and that's the main reason it wins in my book, people want the value for money ,if raw power is all you looking for it's kinda hard to pay 200 more dollars for the average user. And I get ,you are a smaller company and pretty new so you can't have the same cost effectiveness as XIAOMI for example ,if you manage to get your phones around the 500 dollar price range they will knock everything else out of the market with this quality

Carl is wrong about Smartwatches. They fit perfectly into the Nothing mentality! Here's why: Smartwatches don't give you _more_ notfications - they show you the same notifications as before. However, they enable you to check on the notifications without needing to take out your phone. 90% of the time, notifications are unimportant enough that you can just save them for later or ignore them altogether - but when you have already taken out your phone to view them, you are highly likely to deal with them right away. And once you have done that, you are likely to visit other apps and check up on more things while you're at it with your phone anyway. Viewing the notifications on the small smartwatch screen, makes you aware of how unimportant most notifications are and make you take out your phone less often.
