Well done, as always! I am glad you included the interview, which I thought had some good insights from both James and Miley, and which I thought was interesting, so I was interested in hearing your thoughts about that as well las the song. I agree that Metallica's Load/Reload era was much preferable to whatever it is they degenerated into doing lately, which culminated in the dumpster fires of And Justice For All (turning off the bass? Really?) and the even worse Death Magnetic, which was a train wreck. I myself think this was very interesting to hear for its own sake, since everyone has heard the original a million times. I like Miley's vocals in general., and I enjoy her vibrato a lot. I think ,like most singers, she has an on/off vibrato option, to either use it or not, but when using it, this is what her natural vibrato sounds like, which I think sounds interesting especially since she's always on key, and it sounds absolutely great when she hits the power with it. Conversely, I don't think James CAN use vibrato, since I don't think he has one; but I don't think comparing their styles is the right way to approach this or look at this song. I think the fair way to approach it and also to enjoy it is to think of Muley as an addition to the sound, not as a comparison vehicle. So I like James with her better than I like Kames on his own, since I think his singing is good, but it is not his strength. So I look at this as Miley giving his vocals an extra high vibrato and power range as a complimentary element to his singing, which I think helps his singing sound a lot. No matter what, I think it was a pleasure to see some real pros doing this, to where you can sit back and enjoy it (and not be bored) for the unique opportunity and experience that it is.
