Watched them do this live last night when they opened for Three Days Grace, blew me away. One of the most creative things I've seen live. The three person bass solo was pretty impressive as well

For non Nothing More fans, it might be kinda hard to comprehend what is going on, but what this singer is playing, is called "The Scorpion Tail" made by the bass guitarist, Daniel, who has made the drum set underneath the "Scorpion Tail" also this is not how they sound live, trust me, I've seen them live with this thing, it sounds much better, I don't know why it sounds so bad on loudwire.
@manhart876 жыл бұрын
I just saw this act at Copenhell festival, Denmark, and it was amazing. Didn't know Nothing More before, and I was blown away by the act. And you're right, the sound was way better live. More agressive and epic. It worked really well. More memorable than most other bands at that festival !

I mean I like both dubstep and metal (but I mainly stick to metal and come on, nobody can really stick to ONE genre, be it apart of metal and rock or something that is opposite) but I don't understand why people are so angry at this. I like the giant machine this dude is on and though it isn't the best cover, I still appreciate the creativity of this and I think it's pretty cool of them to experiment with this type of stuff. So kudos to them. The rest of y'all just sound grumpy.

Wtf is wrong with all the hate in the comments? This is awesome! even if its not "metal", I fucking hate metal heads that think everything else is shit besides for metal... also in case u dont know that thing he is standing on and the levers hes pulling alters all of the bands sound in real time which is extremely unique and would take hella tons of coordination and planning to work out properly
@rattlehead8907 жыл бұрын
I'll tell you wtf is wrong, most METAL fans don't buy tickets to a metal show/concert to go there and have to listen to this shit. You want to listen to this then turn on the radio like all the other morons.
@austinmoser50567 жыл бұрын
rattlehead890 first off I wouldn't even classify nothing more as "metal" in the first place, they are very heavy but have always had electronic elements in their music and this "scorpian tail" that they built themselves is sick and if your to closed minded to realize that then oh well, dont go to a nothing more concert I guess... also its unique and hella fun to watch live, it doesn't to have to be "metal", metal bands and listeners can appreciate and play other music also
@rattlehead8907 жыл бұрын
Oh dear........ If I went to a mixed music festival I would agree. If I went to a rock/metal festival and had to listen to this shit I'd be throwing bottles.

Apparently a lot of people are watching this despite not actually being fans of Nothing More, just to shit on it because they saw "Skrillex" in the title of the video. I hate dubstep, and I even hate this song, but I keep watching videos of them covering the song simply because I'm so amazed at the Scorpion Tail in action. But all the fucking elitist haters ignore the ingenious contraption just so they can comment "lol the fuck is this? Literally just saw them do this live an hour ago and it was fucking great. All those judging them by this alone I completely understand but you should learn more about them and actually check out their music because this doesn’t represent their sound at all. They just like to do really outlandish things in their set to make it stand out. But their actual sound uses a lot of intricate drumming and guitar work and a prog style of writing

Call me stupid but does that machine actulally control the sound or the levers Jonny Hawkins pushes just for show?
@sean_mccadden6 жыл бұрын
Benjamin Westholm From what I can tell they actually do, it appears that the one on his right pitches down and the one on the left pitches left and I believe it’s pitching the notes Mark is playing on his guitar. If that’s how it actually works that is a really incredible and intricate set up and performance!
@legobiulder675 жыл бұрын
Im honestly wondering the same thing cuz there seems to be a delay between him moving the controls and the pitch shifting. I did see them live but i was too busy moshing to even see after he flipped the thing on its side.

The scorpion tail in connected to the guitar and bass to control the sound effects along with the singers' vocal effects. One of their own creations welded by the band. They also have the Bassinator. All but the drummer play the same bass at the same time, singer using drum sticks to play the bass.
@sstein8743 Жыл бұрын
I think this is badass, but since I know nothing about this machine/instrument, I'm looking for a non-dickhead answer.. @ 1:16 he pushes the left hand lever forward and back, but no sound/effect came from or was played when he did it. So was it a defect, or did he get carried away in the performance/act? Before anyone screams saying I call him a fake, that's not what I'm saying. Many bands that can put on a show like this perform to parts that are prerecorded and played so that the band member can perform something that really draws the fans attention and goes above and beyond per say. Again, in realtime or not, this is badass & must've been 10x better in person

All the music is being played and altered (with the scorpion tail) in moment it's all live unlike dubstep so stop trying to label it that. What the thing does is alter the bands performance he's it's basically a pedal board to the extreme if you think about it.
