understand this: every amp or OD pedal characteristic is a certain combination of: - compression - EQ - clipping By arranging these in a certain order and quality/intensity you can get everything from a Marshall plexi to a Vox AC30 to every OD and distortion pedal on the planet.

Dear everyone complaining about the price hike, Josh has talked about and praised the bad monkey for awhile now. I remember first hearing it from him in 2021, possibly earlier. You have had ample time and the Josh Scott Stamp if Approval for you to go out and get one. It is a great ts, for me it was between that and an eqd plumes. The allure of switching diodes was too tempting so I now have the latter. Maybe check that out too, they're still being made in Akron for $99.

I bought my klon for $150 used in the 90s. I traded it for a 1970 marshall super lead half stack and a 50 watt small box plexi reissue a few years ago. I really liked the klon but I LOVE the Marshalls. I think I did an ok trade.

Controversially, I use a Boss GT100 and an RC500. I don’t have the patience or money to manually “tune” a setup for every song I play so I literally create a user patch set for each group of songs… couple of exceptions for oddities like “wicked game” but I play far too eclectic a mix to be messing about with individual pedals…

The Klon's got more of that kind of like Si-fi sound. Seems more clarity but also 'thinner' but not really. It kinda sounds like when you roll off all the tone knobs and play in the middle in the bridge position.(I think that's what I'm thinking of) That sort of homemade wah-wah sound. But slight. There's definitely a difference. Monkey has more of an overdrive with more presence?low end/mid response. Guaranteed it's not enough of a difference that adjusting a few knobs won't get it there But I like to assume that I've spent enough time comparing sounds of different stuff that I have special ears lol. Even though that's doubtful

I compared a ds1 and a tube screamer. I bought the ds1 and a nice delay peddle, I plug them strait into the front of my Vox. Simple. More than two peddles starts to take away the good tube tone. 25 peddles on a board is cool, if your a studio gear head. I may get a one pickup guitar, just to be more minimal.
