Just bought a new F 850 GSA. Your video helped convince me it was the right bike for me.

Thanks Dave, I hope you enjoy it! It really is a good middle-weight all-rounder. I took this to an off-road park for 2 days, nothing but dirt, rocks, hills...etc. |t did it all and did it well!. Ride Safe, Scott

I believe that you are my favourite motorcycle review channel on KZbin. Can not understand why views are that "LOW". Hope more and more people can subscription your channel. Your reviews are very clear and fun, every time I watch them always can feel your enthusiasm. Your channel is very friendly to me, English is not my native language, but I can choose youtube's automatic translation feature to help me understand. Thank you.

I'm trying to decide between the BMW 850 GS Adventure and the Triumph Tiger 800 XRT as a touring bike, predominantly on-road. I'm using your reviews of both as reference material, and flicking between the two. You do great reviews, and your consistent style makes comparisons like this possible. Keep up the great work. Currently I'm veering towards the Tiger because it's cheaper/better value, lighter, and probably a bit easier on running costs. Obviously a very personal decision at the end of the day, but again, it's great to have your impartial reviews of both bikes for reference.

I love all the GS bikes - i hope you get to ride the 790 adv R so you can compare them for us. The 790 R seems to be spanking this bike so far.

Next week I should have the video up! Just went to my local KTM dealership today and they just got them in yesterday. :(

It will spank it all over off road! Now,on road,for that long rides to the off road spot the BMW is way way better!
@SickBikeDude5 жыл бұрын
12masterr maybe, maybe not - I’d have to personally test ride them both back to back to truly know. As far as price point... 790 R is still a little bit cheaper and you get all the same shit lol. In the end there is no wrong answer on road. Unless you truly love off road..then I’d know which I’d choose.

@@SickBikeDude I agree with you! I used to have a 2014 1200gs that I loved but going on 50k miles and sold it.I took a test ride on the 850 gsa thinking I will hate it but the opposite happened! I like it so much that I bought one!

I think I would go for the regular GS and just take a fuel bladder when required. Am an old fart and it's a heavyweight to push around. Enjoy your videos. Thanks.

I wish you would do a video on options and packages offered for this bike. I recently went to a BMW dealer and it was difficult getting a straight answer from the salesman.
@NothingToProve5 жыл бұрын
That's why I don't do it either! LOL! Seriously though, the problem with a lot of BMW bikes is that while there are packages, BUT you can customize just about any package or any option that you like. All it takes is money and BMW knows this and that is why they do it. Money.

That TFT screen has one major flaw though... You cannot have, on the main view, indication of fuel, total km, and for instance average consumption or the tyre pressure. You have to go into another screen with more than a single click in order to obtain such information, losing the RPM indication. There should be an option to have more data on the main screen if you wanted to. This is the only fault i can think of on my R1250GS with the same TFT. Great looking gadget, the best looking in the market, but not the best functionality-wise. I hope they fix that. Once again, a great review. In all honesty, for the price of this F850GSA i'd just get the R1250GS which is a completely new world. Oh wait i did :P
@NothingToProve5 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes you can get that info on top of the main screen (well almost all of it), by tapping the up arrow on the menu button it scrolls though those things at the top of the main screen. But yea, for the price and weight the 850GSA is right there with a low range 1250GS...at least within 2k or so.

Teste mal die KTM 790 Adventure...wäre ein schöner Vergleich dazu. Bin 790 ADV schon gefahren und war begeistert weil so leicht zu bewegen. Dagegen wirkt die GS total riesig.

Great vídeo. As allways. Pretty similar weigth than a 1250 GS. Chain transmission, in line cylinders and 21” in front. Are those diferentes enougth to choco se this one ínstead of the other ? Apart from price.
@12masterr5 жыл бұрын
well,you should compare this to the r1250 gs adventure model, since this 850 comes equipped with engine protection, stainless rack bar and side racks for panniers, also comes with the fog ligts kit, and a bigger fuel tank!. so the difference in weight between 850 gsa and 1250 gsa, with no fuel is about 50 pounds! a lot in my opinion!

Unfortunately the more with BMW also seems to mean more weight and more money. It is physically huge for a 850cc twin. I would trade off some of the gas tank range for better brakes. Here is a thought maybe make something lighter, less expensive, improved brakes as goal for a new model ever year. Probably not a good business model huh?
@NothingToProve5 жыл бұрын
LOL! You said it correctly. Lighter, cheaper, better brakes. Now that would sell...hmm...KTM 790 ADV...comes to mind...LOL! I will ride that next week. Let's see how it will do. Although the looks of it are an acquired taste but I didn't buy my 1290SDR for the looks either.
