Picking up a KLR in the coming weeks. Decided on the base because I'm a sucker for tan. Think it's a veteran thing lol. Appreciate the content and like the laid back relaxed knowledge you offer.

I’ve got a set of Dunlop Trailmax Missions sitting in the garage waiting to go on once springs arrives. I think it’s more of my own curiosity as to how they do. I grew up riding dirt bikes in Maine and southern Arizona, and have had one street bike. I loved each for their respective abilities, and so I’m really hoping the TM will replicate that to a degree. I’m sure the tires can perform well beyond my own abilities at this point. I have fun and love logging or fire roads through the Maine woods but no wheelies, jumps or scraping pegs around corners. Slow and steady for me. I’m also thinking about taking it out to Colorado to visit my son via secondary roads. Thanks for this Dale, great points.

Thank you, between you and dork in the road I’m changing my mind on the KLR 650 ., the Tenere needs a bigger gas tank and I don’t need 700cc to go 60 to 70 mph the KLR does just fine!!!!

I was able to get Michelin Anakee Adventure tires last July with no problem. They're roughly an 80/20 tire that is good for me because I need to ride about an hour before getting to any dirt and I stay away from single tracks as well as muck and mud. I enjoy the New England State and National Forest roads primarily in the Berkshire Hills (MA) and the Green Mountains (VT) and these tires have worked well on packed dirt an gravel. My stock tires were pretty well worn by 3000 miles.

I was just looking around last week for a 90/10, ya there's like nothing. It wasn't an intense search, but just window shopping. thanks

It's already starting this year. I went in yesterday and had a list of tires (rear) in order of my own personal preference and my top choice was already pushed back to June, my second choice wasn't a brand my local dealer carried and I had to settle for my third choice. I could have purchased online and done it myself, but the online price wasn't that much cheaper than local and my local dealer will mount and balance tires they sell, for free.

Thanks for the update. I just ordered Motoz Tractionator RallZ tires for my Yamaha XT250 from Rockymountain acv/mc and they say they're only 4 days from being delivered. Maybe this year won't be tough to get tires?

I saw that the 22 Traveler that I just got has new Michelins on it (not sure what type) For me the KLR was more of an impulse buy. I was initially just planning on getting a little extra "knock around" bike for short local country road/dirt road exploration and riding. (XR150L or CT125) Now that I have a KLR it opens up capabilities that I wasn't expecting to have. I'm excited about it.

I have 4K plus on my stock D750s, on dirt, mountain asphalt, and singletrack (and I can expect another 1K out of them, if the current wear is any indication). As far as I’m concerned, my ole ‘23 Adventure was ready to go out of the box. I proved it in CO, WY, and Black Hills roads and trails.

We'll have fun reviewing tires together. I have the Motoz rear GPS and front Dual Venture on the way.

Getting ready to order my first set of tires. Have about 1200 miles on the KLR now. I live in central Illinois and there are not a lot of trails around here to ride, so most of my riding will be on pavement. I do want to make a couple of trips to get off road. I think I have narrowed down my choices to the Motaz Adventure or GPS or the Dunlop Trail Max Mission. Do you have any advice or have you put the adventure on yet? Thank you for making your videos. I do find them very helpful.

I got 3000 on my stock tires. Went with an 80/20 because I go on a lot of trails. But they're horrible on the highway at 60-70mph. I'll probably try a 50/50 next.

I can't complain about the stock tires, I'm at a little over 3900 miles on mine. yes they are worn n the front has started to cup some. But, I still ride it and they still do fine. I don't ride crazy and not really any riding in the rain, however I will be replacing them within the next couple weeks

I bought my KLR adventure last July and I'm still running the stock tires. I do 99% on road, highway traveling (60-70mph zones), with a 100 miles round trip commute. I started shopping for tires late last year and still haven't made a decision lol. But I need to, because I'm closing in on 3,000 miles, the factory tires are getting sketchy. I didn't catch the tires you're previously running, could you give me the name, all I heard was Dunlop(if I'm not mistaken). Thanks I'd greatly appreciate it. Stay safe brother.
