Totally agree with you on the waste issue in Thailand. EVERYWHERE, even in temple ponds, you find plastic bottles and all kinds of trash. It is very sad that they can't take better care of the beautiful country!!

Finding your channel recently has been a blessing. Here’s the story. My wife, her two siblings and parents lived in Taht Panom in the 70,80’s …. They moved into refugee camp and got a sponsor from Monroe Louisiana, moved here in 1984, she was 8. Lived life there in monroe and she moved down to Lake Charles Louisiana where I am from in 1995, we met in 2012. So I have been at my job for 27 years and planning to retire in the next 5-13 years, pending the markets. So we started watching Ride4kickz and liked what he was showing……then suddenly we stumbled on your channel because we seen the Buccees logo on a bag……..while watching your channel she said l, I’ve seen this house before, I’ve seen this street before….wait this was my town!!!!! So now I’m we watch your channel daily, even back 5 years ago. She has been back as an adult 4 times since moving here to US. But watching you really gives us a plan for the future to do something similar. Your channel is like therapy and she loves every minute of it. Her daughter starts LSU in the fall, so we have at least 8!years of college to pay for, but planning to make trips there. Thanks again for all you do.. Randy & Ana

I have lived near a beach in Rayong for nearly 30 years! It is NOT foreigners that cause all the trash. Local fishermen, oil and chemical tankers 'tank washing' and 'discharging' in Map Ta Phut. They just don't seem to care! I cleaned the khlong at the back of my house every week! Such a shame the wild birds and other animals were amazing but--daily the trash just floats up! The locals literally don't care! I have stopped cleaning up as it is 'overwhelming! Good post!

Trash is one thing I hated in the Navy. On a daily basis we would take all the left over food from meals. All contained in large plastic bags, along with paint containers, boxes and hazardous materials, etc and dump it off the stern of the ship into the ocean. The idea was out of sight out of mind. There was simply no where to store all the waste onboard when your at sea for extended periods. I complained but no one listened. I was told it’s the wheel that squeaks that gets replaced.

In 20 years a lot of those beautiful beaches might be underwater if something isn’t done. Climate change is real and the results are going to be disastrous to a lot of coastal areas. I hope some of them thar smart people keep trying to figure out how best we can cope with it. Roger, I thought about "down voting you" based upon ignorance. I didn't. You need an understanding of Thermodynamics with some "math". If what you said was "true", there would be Oasis's around every Nuke plant in every country. When you spend time in the desert, and understand the phenomonal energy that hits the earth from the sun and take a barren desert from 30 degrees to over a 100 in a few hours, you'll get the gist of what I'm suggesting. Man is less than 1% (by allot) than what you see in "Climate Change". It used to be called "Global Warming" until the propagandists learned that we're in a "cooling cycle". I'm an retired engineer with a background in Thermo, math, and allot of other sciences. Hate to "burst your bubble". Unless there's nuclear war, Man can't affect the temperature much one way or the other. Don't rely on "autistic young women" to tell you that you're responsible for damaging the planet. The battery cars (what an environmental nightmare those batteries will be recycling). You've been played.

The trash in the ocean is a problem, and most of the people talking about climate change agree as well that the trash needs to be dealt with as well. Something we can work on at the same time (and some cases it goes hand in hand). Starts with all of us, which does sound corny as hell but it is what is is. I agree, it is really frustrating, seeing it littering the ocean, beaches, parks, or even just on the side of the highway, just drives me crazy. Some of it is a larger issues with dealing with the mass of trash we produce, but other is just people being idiots.

I was just on Koh Samet. Same problem. Beautiful beach and water covered in trash. This is one of the big problems in Thailand, it’s very hard to find trash cans so people just drop it anywhere.

Awesome place and what a beautiful sunset. Your right it is a shame about the trash. Definitely needs to looked after and not just in Thailand. When I was in Manila people just drop whatever as they walk along. Even in the malls it is hard to find trash cans. Cleaning up the trash would go a long way to make this planet a much better place. So much beauty and some many people that don't give a crap.

Chuck , oceanic trash sucks , it could be fallout from Typhoon Rai in the Philippines. Like you said, who knows ! But please insist on paper or bamboo straws for you and your friends and cut out use of single use plastic bags, which Thailand loves. We can all do our bit, which is constructive. I stayed at a hostel on Koh Samui that was right on the beach (west side of island), and they had the same issue during certain parts of the year with trash washing up on the shore. He would go out every morning and try to rake it all up but it would wash in throughout the day... He was French with a Thai wife but their Thai neighbors would go out and literally just throw what washed up on their beach, back out in the water. Mind boggling.... But hey, Thailand! lol ;P

Chuck I agree with you about the garbage in the water.I have done extensive research on the "GREAT TRASH ISLAND" in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It stretches for miles and comes from all of the Pacific Ocean countries and it starts with the trash that stupid people throw in the water of the beaches. Living on a boat in San Diego Harbour I would see it every day. I would clean up what I saw and take it ashore every day. Sometimes it was just a few items but sometimes it was a big trash bag.

I agree with you Chuck. This trash needs to stop. Rayong has oil spills but this area has trash floating in from how far and where from ? When I was on Koh Kood, I saw it too. It is the Gulf of Thailand that has the problems. Koh Lipe is much cleaner.

I cleared 3 bags worth of mainly beer bottles, fishermen's polystyrene and plastic debris on niang beech a few years back. Hotels just clear their own areas

Bad luck about the trash Chuck, dont know what its like where you live but in my part of Thailand(Lam Plai Mat in Buri Ram province) they treat the roadside as a rubbish dump, I have 2 5klm walks I do and both have trash all along the roads it makes my blood boil, if I could ever find a way I would start a 1 baht per container re cycle impost on all drink containers. My pet hate on beach walks is broken glass and on our walks on Koh Chang each morning we always got a few pieces each time.

How about not living in a fantasy world and being more realistic. The governments who love to tell us what to do should have a better system in place to recycle and dispose. Or maybe stop making petroleum based products. The problem is obviously way more complicated, that's why we're still in this position people are just simple minded with simple solutions.
