Fun fact : In the OG WICKED, Idina Menzel fell through a trap door on stage the day before her final show. She went to the hospital still wearing green makeup and the costume. People in those times(1930s) are a lot more selfish and dishonest than current modern people, and the laws were not as developed. So such injustice going unpunished are actually part and parcel of their daily, "normal" lives. All sorts of skin color racism and discrimination were also quite rampant in the old days. Also, to the people going "1st! 2nd! 3rd", grow up please, nobody cares about you being early - this video was talking about some cruel stuff. To the people going "how is this legal?!?!?!" it's because it was made in 1939. People didn't know as much as they know today, and if this movie had been made in the current time then they most likley would've shut everything down before it even reached the second scene. It's not, though. It was the very first film to have color film. The movie starts in black and white, then when Dorothy opens her house door in Oz everything is colorful and bright. My mother saw it when it came out and she said it was really amazing. Also, different times back then . A world war was gearing up, there had been a bad stock market crash and everything was in turmoil. This was meant to entertain and give people a few hours of carefree entertainment. Nowadays they probably couldn't make this film with the same actors' lines, as some of them can be misinterpreted today.

I still like the movie and I think a lot of you are just ignorant to the times… This was the 1930s… a time of great experimentation in the US and the West broadly. We all think the drugs stuff and use of chemicals in props is bad because we now live a century almost later with the results in. They didn’t know how bad much of this stuff could be. Kids smoked cigarettes and drank alcohol, they even competed in jobs generally. Not just acting. Due to this being the 1930s as well yes they used all sorts of things to make movies as realistic as possible. As this video points out they couldn’t have CGI or some crap. I’m not gonna make excuses for the bad treatments and certainly not for the abusive parts of its production. But it was obviously a very different time and it’s important to recognize just how much we know now compared to then. This was a time when people would eat off of lead for gods sake… Also just because the production or people were bad. Doesn’t mean you have to ruin the film for yourself. I’m certain the actors and actresses themselves would admit that despite the production. Working on the movie as well as its results were magical and even important for the future of the Entertainment industry and peoples dreams… Find the light in the darkness people…

This is why I felt a weird and strange energy to it, just from looking at it, the characters look too realistic to the point where sometimes I actually believed that they were legit the roles they were playing, this is why some say it looks not enough realistic now but you can see now what happens if it becomes too realistic, since it was 1939, they probably wanted it to actually look more advanced and evolve quickly in tech, they still didn’t realize that you could’ve progressively have evolved in tech, instead they scarred so many people for the rest of their life and all they care about is that mola and saying “your fired” and “your hired” just stupid shit man, hope those people receive the karma they will get or have got from those sins, this is just not funny atp
