Wicked is actually really good! The strategy behind the perk is just a little weird. You kinda just have to work your way towards basement/already be near basement whenever you engage with the killer. THEN when you're close enough to basement and you know you're going to die, you run as deep into the basement as you can. A knowledgeable killer then has a very tough problem of strategy. Either they hook you, knowing you'll just unhook yourself and undo all their work, or they slug you in basement and you're still on no hooks. If you manage to jump into a locker, they HAVE to pick you up to down you, which basically forces them to just concede and hook you even if they don't want to. I've had killers (albeit likely less-experienced ones, but still interesting) see me jump in a locker in basement with Wicked, and then just leave me there. To be fair, playing a whole game normally and hoping they just so happen to hook you in the basement is rather unreliable for sure, but as the survivor you have the power to FORCE them into a situation where basement is their only option and that is REALLY good. But even if you don't manage to self-unhook, don't sleep on the the secondary effect. The 20 seconds of aura reading after getting unhooked is genuinely SO strong. It cuts out so much guesswork. There's been a lot of times where I was able to get unhooked and then get on a gen immediately instead of resetting, because I knew for certain there was no danger. Seriously give this perk another chance!! It's a perk that's both very fun and genuinely very competitive at the same time.

This doesn't undo what they did, they still get a hook state, you just don't have to be saved by someone but 2 scenarios : killer is camping basement you're not saved and still die, killer leave and get pressure somewhere else while team came to save you for no reason or worse, come back to you

If he knew they have Wicked, it's better to just hook and go somewhere else to apply pressure. This way, the next time you down someone, they can't use their perk anymore. Slugging would make sense if the killer had the perks for it, or if it was a killer that can snowball easier, but Wraith has great mobility.

Also slugging IS an option there even without perks because it's the only way for you to pressure my team AS IF you had hooked me in the basement (because you force them to rescue), since if you actually do I get away. But ofc if you do that I recover and am on no hooks.

Wicked is great for solo. Forcing basement guarantees you're not dying on first hook and anytime you're not in the basement, you'll immediately know if you can let the rando heal you under hook.

Late reply but no they didn't. Strength in shadows is a Sable Ward perk, it's perk that lets you self heal (at a faster rate than self care) in the basement. self care is still self care

One unhook without generator interruption is more than enough. One long first chase - 3 gens pop (3 other people unoccupied). Then unhook - another chase - 3 people unoccupied, gg wp 5 gens done in the span of two+ chases. Killer has no pressure in the early game, and this build makes that early game last so so much longer for the survivor team, since there is 0 investment into rescuing
